Chipotle has nothing on the level of Freebirds habanero sauce. That having been said, a free burrito is a free burrito. I absolutely took advantage.
When we went to the Sugar Land one, the five of us were the only ones, but there was a guy leaving in a new away jersey. But it was still very early, I had lots of stops to make and that was the first. When we used to stop at the Freebirds on Shepard before games there were always Dynamo jerseys there. And after games way out in Sugar Land at the Whataburger, strangely enough, there are always jerseys too.
Wow, I just swung by Freebird and there have been some big changes. In addition to a Monster Veggie costing $8.70 now after tax, they no longer carry garlic and they no longer carry the poblano relish/salsa. That sucks big time.
I haven't been since the change, but I hope they haven't quit the lime juice and the cilantro. Those are two things that separate it from Chipotle in my mind.
I must always get weak sauce then from Freebirds.. because I've never felt any heat... sadly.. Chipotle has turned down the heat in their hot sauce also.... Sadface.
My family enjoyed some free burritos at the Clear Lake location last Saturday.... they were very good as usual.

Lame was going to Freebirds two nights ago and them struggling to get 8 people through the line in twenty minutes.. then only having budlight and corona on draft... boo.. get some local stuff Freebirds.. even lame Chipotle offers SaintArnold. I did get the habanero sauce this time though and it had a nice kick.
Actually, lame Chipotle offers tequila margaritas too, which really surprised me. I didn't know they had a liquor license. I'm pretty much over Freebird's, which is a shame.
