Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: "At 2-0 after seven minutes the game is over. We were too strong. Then came the penalty and red card but the game was resolved in 10 minutes. "There were lots of people in the box, Eden Hazard makes the shot. We see one player diving like a keeper and touching with his hands. From the bench we couldn't see which player it was. It was a penalty and a red card, unfortunately the wrong boy came off. Even the linesman couldn't help him to make the right decision. The important decision - is it a penalty? Yes. Is it a red card? Yes. "We had momentum but it stopped last Saturday against Aston Villa for some reason. Now we are trying to build more momentum. The victory over Galatasaray was important. This was the most important match of the season for Arsenal. For us it was an important game."
Wow fabulous result, though its still a few games from now I feel its going to be all about Liverpool away.
The stadium was going nuts. Arse supporters were really in full voice and after the two quick ones they shut up real quick. But as it went on there was really just a giggly disbelief on everyone's face. Have to say there were some solid arse supporters there until the end and still in full voice. I STILL can't believe what happened.
God this was great to watch . We have been good lately at spanking the big London teams , I hope the players can get a little rest this week before Crystal Palace and keep the ball rolling onto Anfield. If we could as well , Eto'o for another year wouldnt be all bad an idea. Guy shows up big time in the big games .
I think I prefer Schurrle to Willian in our starting XI. Has a similar work rate and engine, little less skillful perhaps, but he adds a much needed goal threat that Willian hasn't really shown on a consistent basis this season.
Well, let's not go crazy Still, glad one of us got to see a great day for CFC, REGARDLESS of how the rest of the season works out. Of course, it might turn out to be significant in where the EPL title ends up
Agreed. Willian may have the flair but it's proven to be pretty pointless imo, I much prefer Schurrle's directness.
I'd say his work rate has improved though and, tbh, it may even be BETTER than Willians now. With the goal threat I'd be starting him more often than not.
The thing about schurrle is the amount of positive offensive runs he makes. Last fees games it's almost embarrassing how many times he's made a great run and not been found. As good as his defensive work rate is, he's always looking to get behind or be ready to be on the end of chances. Players just need to be more aware if his runs.
While I do prefer Schurrle, I don't think we can safely say that he is a more consistent scoring threat since the sample size is small so far. All that said, Willian does not seem to threaten goal very much. But wasn't he brought in to create, anyway? I think Willian's usefulness will become evident once we have a more consistent striker. But what better way to celebrate Arsene's near decade of failure with a thumping at the Bridge!
Congratz with the win lads, the Special One can't be stopped in big games. LOL. Wenger's more like Theon who got tortured by Ramsay.
