Are any possible replacements being mentioned?

Unbelievable. I am actually at a loss for words. Maybe I will contribute something more when I've come out of this... slump.

OK not the news I expected to come onto the boards to read!! Ole's done for now..his age and that type of injury probably means his career is over :(

He's one of Man Utd's best ever servants and without him their would have been no treble! Not sre if it'd be correct to wish a 'speedy' recovery because it's not going to happen and it's best that he's slowly bought back some time next winter..if at all.

We have to dip into the tranfer market nowwe're vulnerable in two positions now! Terrible news on all counts.

I have no idea what's going on but how come you have a yellow card now and a red square?

    Re: Ole's career over!

Somebody used his computer to create two sock puppets in order to become a serial negative rep artist over on the Arsenal forum while attempting to avoid detection. The socks were redded and Acro has been given a temporary yellow card - basically just means that he can't start a new thread really. If he apologizes, he can ask for the card to be lifted at the discretion of one of the Super Mods. Acronym claims it was his little brother up to a bit of mischief. He'll have to deal with that situation if he wishes to remain, as if it would happen again, they could red card him and ban his IP address.

I assume that the people on the Arsenal board, once they found out who had been hitting them with undeserved negative rep, piled on Acronym's account and now his rep box is red.

Jeez Motterman, your very politically correct arn't you!! Id be a little harsher....

He actually had a red box before all this was found out. Basically, he wrote such rubbish and pissed off a few people over at Arsenal in the last 4 days that he got repped baddly for. Now that it's known who had repped us all, I dare say someone will give him some pay back.

As an added thought - I wonder if Acronym received any positive rep from Salford and Madds Timm, obviously for good posts that is........ ;)

Newbie reps don't count on your "score." That's why they are gray/blue...

Back to Ole -- an absolute class act all the way, and one of my favorite players with Man U.

I'll be watching the '99 CL final tape tonight.

Sad to hear about Ole's injury. He certainly faces an uphill battle but I think even at his age he can come back with a lot of hard work.

Yeah but Acronym has got such negative rep that he can't actually give out any positive or negative.

    Re: Ole's career over!

People who have a negative rep rating, their rep don't carry much weight either.

In any case, this is a thread about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. :(

I gave you rep to make up for it.

Gray means that the rep doesn't count. Negative rep shows up in red.

    Clear?

EDIT: and it's really quite sad about OGS, although I'll never forgive him for getting in the way of the elbow and all....

Get well OGS. I'm optimistic the thread title will prove to be inaccurate.

Well if it is the case, the premature end to Ole's United career will only further add to the legendary status he has attained in the eyes of the Old Trafford faithful.

But, he's come up big so often late in the game, maybe he'll give us one more short stint late on in his career.

On a related note, I think this means that we absolutely positively have to buy a right-winger before the transfer window closes now. I don't think there is any way around it. Bellion? I'm not as full of hatred towards him as some are, but he is not an adequate player to have there. Even on the left we at least have Richardson to backup Giggs. Sorry but if Fergie and the PLC don't upen up the checkbook now, it'll really come back to get us.

    Re: Ole's career over!

Its very sad to see. But I'm sure Sir Alex will carry on as if Solskjaer will no longer be with the team.

I see no reason for OGS to retire. Its completely up to OGS. I know it must hurt completely to be out again. But, leave a place for him and if his contract expires in 2005 or 2006. Then give him a 12 month extension.

Seeing OGS go down may affect other players like Giggs and Gary Neville. If OGS fights to come back to form. Then Giggs won't retire early. But..if OGS calls it quits. Giggs and Gary Neville may start to reconsider their own careers, and whether they've accomplished everything they could.

Man, my heart just dropped when I saw the title of this post...OGS is such a world class player that it's sad to see his career have so many hurdles, but we still have great memories of him nonetheless....I don't think that OGS adsence will effect Gary or Giggsy too much, as when Becks (Garys best friend) left, he seemed quite unchanged about it and even signed a new contract....but w/ Giggsy it's diff. because he is reaching his end in the next couple of years anyway, so who knows really......time to make way for the new boys I guess, as sad as that may sound.... :(

yea i know, exactly how I feel.

you know, I've been hearing a lot about how "gutted" people felt recently (Euro 2004- england going out, and whatnot) and always thought it was a stupid thing to say, but right now it really describes how I feel- terrible.

Anyways, the best thing to do is keep on sending the fanmails to encourage him and keep his spirits up.
