I just wanted to voice my opinion on this because I have been to four stadiums out of 10. I truly believe that Chicago may have the best fans because they travel a lot, they have lots of songs, and they provide a great atmosphere on Televised games. In a close second comes my beloved metros. Theres nothing like joining the esc and being there everygame singing your heart out. The esc sings more songs and the loudest out of all. Third has got to be D.C. They have some passionate and rowdy fans. Last year they kept us in the stadium for 30 minutes after the game because they wanted to fight us. The atmosphere is unbelieveble at both stadiums when these two teams face each other. Thats my 1st 2nd and 3rd place. The galaxy sucks. Their supporters sing for 2 minutes and don't sing again for another 20 minutes. I was at one of their games screaming, insultings and going out of hand,(in support of my metros) and they did nothing and said nothing. God forbid you do that to a dc or metro fan, We get in your face and put you on your place. At the end of the game, all a mexican dude could say was " hey man, look at the banners we got (pointing at the American flag) and go back to New York" Pathetic.
I'm guessing you were in the soccer mom section during the match were NY were up 3-0 at HT. Why should fans bother when it's obvious the team wasn't bothered that night?
Yes the USA fans are getting better all the time.. You surely couldn't have been refering to Metro fans, of course..
I'd say Columbus fans are the best. Ever since the beginning of the league Columbus had a following. There are other threads around talking about the 'bad' times of MLS in which teams couldn't get fans to come to their games (that's still going on but it's gotten better). Crew fans have stayed with them.
I think the fact that there are any Metro fans left makes them the best. Sure, CHI fans are the most populous, DC right behind them, but amazingly, they're also the 2 most successful teams in the league. Coincidence? I wonder how great their support would be if their teams/FOs/stadia were as pitiful as the Metros have been.
