He's got to do better when the rare chance comes his way. He flubbed his first touch on his one opportunity.

Jozy sucks this year. Sunderland sucks this year. He is no better or worse than the whole team.

    Just watched, my take:

    Good:
    - that 50th minute take with the unfortunate touch, settled, created space for a shot and hit it solid on target with his left. I'll take that all game long, obviously prefer goal. Touch wasnt horrible, just some tight space. And surprised no one complimented wes on the nice pass....
    - i liked that play mostly because jozy took in a nice run, coming from a wider position he had angle and a head start on the defender....
    - 85' first time in weeks he receives ball and turns with it. Takes on the defender but heavy touch allows defender to tackle. I still like it, alot. Needs to do that way more often.
    - 89' wide on the right, takes on his guy, gets some space but sort of lays it off. Again getting aggressive and it creates chances.
    - took on defender wide left near the end line to win a corner.

    Bad:
    - where do i start with these headers. I don't know if its skill or will. I think he doesn't have a neck, or doesn't know how to extend his head. Sounds weird i know. But hopefully someone can support me on this.
    - 60' at the 6 yard box, ball pops in the air and he jumps and heads is weakly straight down. It was weird, he definitely could and should have put it on goal.
    - after watching andy carroll earlier in the day, amazed at how little jozy wins 50/50 headers. Carroll out wills and out jumps his defender. Jozy doesnt do either.
    - his runs were just horizontal in the center channel. It really doesn't allow for much play into him, Hes usually on the opposite side of his defender and the ball.
    - long ball break away late in the game. Keeper comes out and wins it, but i thought jozy could have gotten a touch or at least a serious challenge for it.

Overall, his performance didnt stand out and with fletcher injured he needed to produce. Another missed opportunity.

1 - Carroll is about four inches taller, too.

2 - This is simply not true. As pointed out in this thread by more than one person, and as pointed out many times by many people all season, his runs are routinely ignored. He had one running alone straight down the gut on a counter and Borini looked at him before turning toward the corner, dribbling around some people to the touchline and then crossing meekly to the keeper. This is but one glaring example.

3 - Cmon dude. Seriously. Some of you guys expect him to exhibit unnatural, non-human movement sometimes. He could not reach that ball with a fishing pole.

And in case it is unclear to anyone, I am not being hostile or angry. Just talking.
