Also -- how the hell is Mets orange an actual possibility?

I don't dislike it -- I'm just beyond perplexed at that one.

#2 is pretty dope. That's my vote.

They're going with the cites colors. Since the Islanders and Knicks use the same colors too thats probably how they get around it.

This is the flag of New York City:

That flag is derived from the Prince's Flag used by the Dutch Republic in 1625 when New Amsterdam was established.

I like the subway token. I don't really like "Football Club" spelled out.

F.C. is poser enough, and I can just hear the English accent arrogantly informing me what's what.

Everywhere and Nowhere.....I'm the wind, baby.
    Here.....let me be the one..........

I like the first one better.

But judging from earlier responses, this may help explain why my wife doesn't let me pick out stuff for the house.

They should have included the squirrel and the pigeon.

    Definitely #2.

Classy, elegant and subtle. If selected, IMO it would be the best crest in MLS.

Overall I'm just happy that they didn't copy Man City's badge, and their going with their own identity.

Seriously, do they even have seals in NY?

FWIW, the Bronx stadium thread is the defacto mega thread. But unsurprisingly it gets much less traffic than a dedicated one

#2 with the orange and blue colouring would be the perfect compromise of the two. Throw the orange in there for the city flag, Mets fans (Chivas USA has taught people not to alienate big sectors of your audience) and that I think the logo will plain look better for it.

Still not sure why mine didn't get selected:

It is when the poll associated with it indicates that the official badge release is 3/20. As these are the only two fan choices it would seem that NYCFC is down to two branding choices, I would call that newsworthy. And again I should read responses before responding, thanks @Knave for beating me to it ;)

I like them both, I actually think the tricolor interlocking letters on the shield are more interesting than the all white of the token. Also the token really reminds me of Inter more than anything. I would select the city shield but would look to make minor tweaks to it.

    DING!

I knew it was something. Still like it, though. But that was one of those things that you didn't even know was bugging you until it was revealed.

Which is why mega-threads often make sense. They form anyway. Might as well label them accordingly.

#2's main color is the light blue which will not stand out so well when it is on the jersey which is.... light blue.

Personally I like this one better:

I like the round one and think it'll look great on light blue. But I wonder if they considered a pentagon shaped badge? ...Since they're using that to signify the five boroughs.

A pentagon would work perfectly for a badge, while seeming less derivative. It could nicely connote soccer too, while being more subtle and cool than sticking a ball on there.

Maybe they'll go with a all Orange third kit?

I learned that lesson the hard way... also the Indian soccer forum I go on is slowly realizing that promoting itself on facebook was a bad idea... the forum went from "super informative and discussion based" to "Everyone is wrong except for me and all logic is out of the window" in literally 1-2 days.
