To be honest, I don't expect another full great season from him. His reputation is based on experience and only two good seasons and a good summer, yet he is supposed to be a midfield general. I would be surprised if he has another full season in him and when he doesn't, his experience shouldn't save him.
Still think Lasogga is needed in the lineup. Acts as a catalyst/complement to our offense Too "soft", not clinical enough, always caught with bad positioning inside the box, zero physicality and killer instinct, no back-to-goal, no aerial threat, limited finishing skill-set Lasogga can certainly be the missing puzzle. The way how he can score in diversed ways interested me, how much he brings physicality, winning-mentality and passion to the game is another plus. And apparently his holding ability up top n ability to play back-to-goal is seriously missed
I mean I understand why Loew insists they want a striker up top. Too many missed attributes even on modern games. And with Mueller/Oezil/Goetze/Kroos/Schweini/Lahm u don't see any catalyst/X-factor/complement(whatever you call it) not clinical enough, always caught with bad positioning inside the box, zero physicality and killer instinct, no back-to-goal, no aerial threat, limited finishing skill-set
This is a great analysis of the state of German football. The problem really is that the team has been stuck in too long a period of stagnation (2011-2013) under Low where the players relied on a style of quick transitions and counter attacks that brought great success against low quality teams, but was unable to control games against bigger sides or create enough real scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, IMO there isn't enough time before the WC for Low to completely change the style and mentality of the players (it would be a miracle), and we just have to hope for the best with this unstructured retention game he is now trying to implement.
Great point. Although the fact we regularly under perform in friendlies must have something to do with the lack of motivation and drive for players.
Anybody here watching Rooney closely? This guy doesn't reflect his salary and the hype since years now, and yet he's adored. Maybe this will help me understand the ozil saga in EPL.
Next best would be what we saw Wednesday with Schweinsteiger and Kroos ahead of Lahm and hope the former is fit and in form, otherwise he's a waste and I would put L. Bender ahead of him even.
1. Jögi Löw's jumper and scarf matched the uniform. A+ 2. Unfortunately, they played like 1999's Flamengo without Romario at no.9 3. How do you think Romario would have done at the "false 9"?
I was bored and decided to make a statistic of german offenisve players.
