So Cherundolo messed up on the first one, what minute BTW?

What happened on the second one?

it was a quite good combination by Leverkusen from the middle on the right wing (not cherundolos side ;-)

after a nice combination between Berbatov, Ponte and Schneider, that had beaten Hannovers defense, Franca scored to the final (lucky) result 2:1.

Uh, I guess the "pin them on their heels while not scoring strategy" didn't work so well, did it?

You (and others) can learn a lot from non-soccer fans.

Like 0 kindof sucks in any sport (doesn't matter which).

    One has to score.

Nothing like a football game in which your receiver gets open, but the your quarterback overthrows him....

Every fan understands mis-execution, and its just not good enough.

(PS- You going to nuansce me into the excitement (of many) 0-0 matches too?). Quit deriding non-soccer fans- they have some valid points (SOME) about soccer's weaknesses.

Actually, he touched on that issue indirectly with his first response: "We must stop beating ourselves."

It's simple. If it's one game, then you can say, they played well, they were just unlucky. If it happens match after match, you gotta change the strikers.

I agree w/that...except this was a big problem last year too (many of same players)....there is a bit of "prove it" (regarding goalscoring) with several players (including Clint really- he was dry under Lienen)..

    Thanks,

it was really sad seeing 96 losing the game in injury time agin. But the played very well. I think we will get the 40 points to avoid relegation, and maybe more ;-)

Stevie did well except that situation that lead to the 1:1 (out of position).

I see there is a Terry Galloway listed with the Hannover 96 amateur side. Any idea where he is from?? They signed another Cdn in the off season - Maycoll Canizales who was with our U20s along with Julian de Guzman and was with Werder Bremen amateurs last season.

To me the good answer is "win more games". separate more from bottom half bundisliga, go to Europe, etc.

there can be good 0-0 game. the more chance you create the better possibility to score. there can be player that play ver ywell but still dont score. sometime ronaldinho create many chances or play well but they just dont convert. same with nedved, zidane and many great player. it happens. non-soccer fan go "???" maybe because they 'non-soccer fans'. ;)

but one part i agree with is that you do not get 3 points without scoring any goal. so team have to score to win.

But if you've got a system that stymies creativity on the field, that relegates players to strict roles, that waits patiently for counter-attacks, and relies on set pieces - Well then after a few seasons of Off mediocrity perhaps you change the coach

Look - Every coach has a style of Soccer (or any other sport) that they prefer and feel more comfortable with when they try to lead a team - And sometimes you just don't have the type of players you need for your style or system - And sometimes you just don't have the horses either

But - Really good coaches recognize talent and creativity and steadfastness and tenacity and vision - And then figure out a way to get those players together out there on the field in a formation and style of play that makes the most sense for THE PLAYERS - NOT THE COACH

Mathis started to play some last year - Then he scored - Then he didn't play - Go figure - So much for coaching geniuses in Europe
