Just like in 96 we(the mighty persians) went out in the semi finals in the penalty shoot outs thx to bad refereeing... IRAN-SAUDI in UAE the ref disallowed 2 perfectly fine goals and didn't give us a 100% penalty kick. Then the same team Iran had defeated earlier in group stages 3-0 went on to win on the penalty kicks and then the cup in the finals..

Iran was the best team in 96 and they finished 3rd thx to bad refereeing Iran is probably the best team in this asian cup and now they will finish 3rd
(I hope!) again thx to bad refereeing. But to be fair Iran had some luck during the game against Oman and that bad refreeing helped us so that evens things out I guess..

Iran had 2 players sent off for no good reason (I dunno what the ******** alavi was shown a red card but zare didn't deserve that red card at all the chinese player had studied rivaldo a lot it seemed :D)

again congrats to China but make no doubt about my asian friends IRAN is still the best team this continent has to offer!

just kiddin Iran China Jordan Oman Korea and Japan are all at pretty much the same level (japan iran and korea might be better than the other ones if they have access to all of their players). Lets put our differences aside and go make asia proud! (ahem do I qualify as a fair mod now?) :)

err that iran loss was really a blow to my cocky attitude :p

True. But this tournament in China is the most absurd ever witnessed.
The Chinese player should get penaly, and the ref should have at least 3 games ban

    Above every one ;)
This is on of my post in another thread. But i think it has the same subject as i see.Yes sometimes history repeat its self. And sound like this AFC cup is only an eventual consequence of other cups.

Newbie’s referee so excited to show red cards know y? Coz they thought it would be great to reflect the color of China's flag in the games.(no offence for Chinese, they are my best 2nd team). They showed red cards as if it was a Business card for the referee.

No referee has given the feel for the watchers that he understood the importance of each match, and the influence eventually on the results. The teams who suffered the most are Iran and Japan.

Then came up the strange legislation that u can forbid a player from playing a match for a fault he committed before the tournament.

The AFC didn’t got any comment on the referee decision to change penalt. spots during Jordan vs Japan. It’s legal, as a omitted right for any team, but they had to notify it in their pre cup legislations. It’s certain than no one could tell that would happen b4, but any decision must have a reference some where.

the big surprise that is more than a shock for all of us that the next cup would be held in four countires.4 countries that will take the chances of others countries which deserve it most. With my respect for Ind. Thai and the other host, they are simply not showing Good soccer. And waiting for them to improve for 2007 is just ridicule.

This AFC is really a good one.

The problem is that the FIFA, (known for its concern for the rules),is not giving any interest on what is happening.

Teams that faces the most injustice was Jordan Bahrain Iran Uzbek Korea and Oman.
On the other hand Japan China and South East Asia had more generosity from refs
