You were right. I was wrong. The shirt is fairly boring, but I like the entire package with the white shorts.
I like everything but the socks. Solid blue or maybe red would look better but they are not really that terrible. At least they got rid of the god awful gray shoulder pads
I really hope they sell this shirt because I might actually buy it if they did. Blue shirt isn't impressive enough to replace the one I have now.
Agreed - in no rush to buy one. Still have my 2006 jersey (sadly perhaps). The white shorts are nice so I may pick up a pair of those.
Note to current Revs: Darren Sawatzky used to wear red briefs under his white shorts that were plainly visible to everyone in the stadium. Don't be Darren Sawatzky. I like the overall look, including the socks. I wish there were some white somewhere on the jersey (other than the sponsor's logo) to tie it together. Still, the navy/white/navy is excellent. I hope they stick with it.
Was anyone else really impressed with the jersey launch video? I think it's the best video they've ever produced. It should probably be their commercial this year.
Yeah, I was impressed as well. The GoT motif was very cool, although I'm not sure if they could use it as a commercial due to possible copyright infringement (I have no idea, just guessing). It was also cool that they had a theme for the night, "Made in New England." They really harped on many of the players, coaching staff, and front office being from the area and proud of their roots in New England. The four New England based players were the ones that presented the jerseys. They were also serving New England based appetizers (lobster finger sandwiches, not quite sure what else), but it would have been nice if they had some loval beer available. The night was sponsored by Anheuser-Busch and the only options were Bud Light or Budweiser.
It's really not that large, and IMO, looks much better than the last version of the UHC sponsorship logo. I guess they can't make everyone happy...
No, everyone has different tastes. Like I said, I thought it was rather plain originally, but seeing the full kit, I don't mind it.
Yeah, I feel the same way. I don't love the jersey but the kit comes together nicely as a whole. I still wish there was some white detailing in the jersey though, it looks too much like a Fire jersey IMO.
It is a little bland, but overall, I like the look with the white shorts. I wonder if this means they will wear blue shorts with the white away jersey.
I have wanted to get a new home jersey for a few years. I could never pull the trigger on the one with the grey arm panels. This one is an improvement. If it was perfect, I couldn't complain and have nothing to look forward to! Now about that third kit....
Rest of kit looks good, seems to fit together pretty well. (Other than sponsor) But aside from the overall kit -- Compared to the shirt size, the logo design doesn't work too well. The whole thing is placed high, up almost on top of Revs and adidas logos. Letters are oversized, block-like. Looks like a preliminary design as opposed to a finished logo, almost as if "Hey, did anyone see the good creative fonts laying around anywhere? I can't find them". Overall, it looks like some sort of "warning" sign -- as opposed to a logo of a specific company. When I look at the sponsor, I associate it with these mass-produced basic "warning" designs instead: But maybe that's just my own "pattern matching" way of seeing things.
I wonder why that is. Look at the difference between the UHC placement on the primary and secondary jerseys here.
The home white shorts might look a little weird with red stripes versus the navy stripes on the away shirt. Then again, it would match the thick red stripes on the side of the jersey.
So this is what Chivas USA wore this weekend. Looks a little familiar. So not only are we trying to look like Chivas, but we are trying to play just as bad. And it looks like we're succeeding.
That's just weird, and somewhat disappointing. How can MLS have two teams with essentially the same uniform? (Yes, the socks are different.)
Well, for one, it's just Chivas' secondary kit. They'll only wear it against Chicago, Dallas, and Toronto. And two, they won't exist as Chivas next season, so that kit will be gone. Lastly:
