Yea, I couldn't tell other than the announcers saying it was lazy and premeditated. They didn't say 'ruthless and despicable' or anything.
I just didn't see him jump in or anything like that, so if you kick someone in the shins/heel just went past you on the wing 40 yards from goal it seems like yellow. . .
Am I the only one who's bored to death already by this team, and the season hasn't even started yet. It's been 4 years of these minor league tactics already. Other than Silva, Espindola and Franklin I see very little technical ability on this team ...
I'm excited, a solid defense and some great players up top. Espindola kept posession like a champ. Also delo is gunna make noise this year.
That was a special circumstance that called for a special suspension. If I recall it was actually 2 games
I don't know, looked like a decent game to me. United pressed hard so Seattle had to be on top of it, they didn't have time to pick us apart. They were clearly the better team, but United threatened plenty. Tale of two halves for Silva, when he has his head in the game he can really play one touch at a high level. Christian once again was fantastic, then took a silly red. DeLeon was poor today with his final ball, and Franklin put the defense under duress at times but was really good taking it to Seattle. All in all, United isn't as good as Seattle but that should surprise no one. I'll see how they stack up against Columbus and then I'll reassess.

Good morning! Let me report on a few things that I still kinda remember from the CCC ...... In the first game I thought the left side of our defense (Houston's right attacking side) was shown to be a giant hole of easy overlap passing making for even easier crosses from that side. Charleston also made a meal out of that side (to better effect than Houston I have to say) and got off several dangerous shots because of how easy it was to feed in from that side. Either Seattle ignored that because they wanted to work on something different, or DC's defense figured something out (I am gonna have to guess the former, unfortunately). I went down here expecting/hoping to see great things from 2 specific players, Christian (<-- the name on the jersey) Fernendez and Victor Munoz (my favorite draft pick). I was a bit disappointed in both of them unfortunately. I am loathe to agree with Chad Ashton *spit*, but Munoz does need work on his defensive positioning in case the ball is lost. He does have a great ability to stop the ball and turn on it and get rid if it - just not sure he'll have the time to display that talent in an MLS midfield. I was pleased to see that by the last game, Munoz's jersey had his name on it, it was not there for the first 2, none of the rookies/trialists' names were. Perhaps the equipment guys just had more time before the last game. There is no doubt in my mind that Christian's red card was well deserved, the foul was cynical, violent, and completely uncalled for - the ball and the dude were long gone, he might have turned toward the edge of the 18 to cut the angle and perhaps catch up, but he clearly chose instead to go after the guy and try to take him out instead. I've seen that called a yellow, but it would have been very kind if it had been. The CCC Cup is very heavy. I came away EXTREMELY impressed with Espindola. Moderately impressed with DeLeon, and a bit disappointed in Big Joe Willis, Arnaud, and Jeff Parke. We were better than I had hoped with our short passing, and we scored on a corner. We won all the Cups even if we only won one game. We actually looked like we thought we could score, which is already an improvement over last season whether we actually can or not
Thats probably THE reason why though as talented he might be, he was in the 2nd/3rd division and even then left available for the US.
Let me preface this with the fact that I am not a soccer coach or a long-time tactical studier of the game But then again I think many on here who profess to be such things have the worst opinions I didn't notice him when I looked where I thought he should be - quite often I thought he should be in front of me where an offensive player from the other team was near the 18-yard box, often with an overlapping player coming along as well - but no Christian to be seen. If I did notice him there, it was in pursuit, not in position. (that could be his orders, who knows, if so I blame the person who ordered it). He seemed to be slow, his heart seemed to be somewhere else, he jogged instead of ran, he just always seemed to be behind the play. Then there was that awful tackle at the very end - I'd like to hear his reasoning, people there seemed to think it was because of stuff the punk he tackled had said during the match, but I didn't hear anything. Another surprising thing I saw: Jeff Parke has smaller shin-guards than Cris Korb.
