I forgot how we did in the reverse fixture. It reminded me how well Ramsey was playing earlier this year- hoping he come come back soon and provide the spark this team so clearly needs.
A few years ago Freddy L was asked what he thought of MLS when he was playing for Seattle. He said that he would rate it at par with the Dutch league. I think he was spot on. With an exception here and there, players of Jozie's quality won't succeed in EPL and I like him a lot.
Man, with the lack of pace we have up top, he probably would be getting serious minutes with am arsenal shirt.
Altidore concerns me not.....have the BFG knock him around a bit. That will slow him down. Easy win as long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot. Poldi deserves a good amount of playing time in this one. He and Olivia should split time 50/50. Lets hope for an Everton victory tomorrow and then they become completely sucky for the next two and a half weeks or so.
My line-up would be: Back 5 (w/ Monreal) Arteta---Ox Gnabry---Santi---Poldi Giroud ..but it probably will be that: Back 5 Arteta---Flam/Wilshere Ox---Rosicky---Santi/Poldi (probably Santi) Giroud I think this would be a good time to test Ox at CM once again and Gnabry wide right. I'm almost sure AW will rest Özil after what he said after the Bayern game and that Giroud will re-take his spot up front. Arteta is rested and will start. Not sure about Flam and JFW because they ran their butts off Wednesday so Ox would be wiser, but at the same time he picked up a knock too last game, so Flam or JFW will play alongside Mikel imo. Poldi should start but Santi came off early Wednesday so maybe AW will snub Poldi for Cazorla once again. Any news on Gibbo? I've seen nothing about his injury as of yet..
Arsenal: Gibbs (buttock), Vermaelen (leg), Ramsey (thigh), Walcott (knee), Diaby (knee) No word on time out yet, but better than a hamstring.
Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Rosicky, Wilshere, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Flamini, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gnabry, Sanogo, Bendtner Sunderland: Mannone, Bardsley, Ki, Johnson, Colback, O’Shea (c), Altidore, Bridcutt, Vergini, Alonso, Borini. Subs: Larsson, Gardner, Celustka, Giaccherini, Cuellar, Scocco, Ustari.
The interesting thing about that statute is that particular pose (him bringing the ball down with a deft touch) was obviously made most famous in Holland shirt (WC 98) in THAT goal.
Remember it well. DB10 Zizou's equal, just never got the lift the Jules Rimet. His generation of player? Oh man brings tears of joy to my eye to remember them all. What a talent. Well deserved
Don't remind me.....Painful memories. I was there and rooting for Argentina. I will never forgive Ortega for headbutting Van Der Sar and getting a red card.
