Funny enough Gnabry's movement off the ball is the best of the young players. Ox, Jack's movement really not good. Theo's movement has improved. I would've brought on Gnabry instead of Ox
not responding to Lamb's post at all. He said one thing and then pretended he didnt say it. he like to play too central, imo and for Ramsey too.
If you watch basketball, you have to think of Giroud as a lane clogging center earlier in the season he was more active now he's slower and thus the movement around him has slowed down. You can't make runs when the entire backline is clogged up due to Giroud parking btw two centrebacks. Look at the game again Manutd was not trying to do anything but sit deep and clog the running/passing lanes which is easier to do with a guy like Giroud in there. He doesn't have the ability to move in and out of the area with speed and deciseveness.
Hmm..I think when tasked with wide play he does a better job BUT remember he's at his best swapping with Ozil who will take up movements on the wing to facilitate passing lanes.
ellesar we need a major infusion of pace and power in the centre. Our best pivot in an IDEAL world would be Ramsey and Diaby. So we have to find a Diaby type to pair with Rambo. That pivot would kill people.
Minus the glass-like quality of Diaby. But I completely agree. I can't think of any players like that off the top of my head.
That's not the issue though: it's not that Giroud parks between the two CBs, because that's his job. It's because when there are four midfielders within ten yards of him, the other team has their midfielders and CBs centered around Giroud too. Giroud can deal with two CBs. The only player in the world that can deal with two CBs, a fullback, and a midfielder crowding around him is Messi, and even he can't do that every time.
His movement btw the CB's is too slow, he doesn't have quick feet. The point of a lone striker in the ideal is to pull the backline too and fro and cause openings to happen for mids to make runs into. He can't do that because he doesn't move fast enough
Me neither, and in Wengers defense. He had this central pairing in his mind from the early 2000s along with Wilshere in there. Don't forget Denilson as well. Point is Wenger had the right idea, with the right personnel he just didn't have the good fortune of being able to count on healthy players, players not being sold. Imaging picking from a midfield of Denilson, Diaby, Ramsey, Wilshire. Also why didn't we keep Coquelin? Or was he not "Arsenal" quality lulz
its good m8, you say one thing and then pretend you didnt say it. Its a common trait of yours time on here. Its really not worth it to engage you on this discussion because you will continue pretending you didnt say what you said. thats what I like. When Gnarby was playing well earlier this season, he was out wide and stretching things. Opened the field for everyone in the center and defenders were pegged back. When he came into the line up in January, he kept running inside and he was damn near ineffective. I have no idea why it changed or what happened, but that stuff bothered me.
Arsenal fans: Criticize Ozil for not playing more like Wilshere. Criticize Wilshere for how he's playing.
if Diaby ever became the player he could be, he would have been sold to Real Madrid for 30 million in 2009.
Well, a day later and I've come to terms with this draw. We fans wanted a win, a statement game to get us over the 5-1 hiding vs Liverpool. We didn't get it. And so we're pissed. I think Wenger was thinking long term in this game. Given that we are especially vulnerable to the quick counter and that Rooney at pace still has our number, it was more important to not lose this game than it was to win it. Yeah, we were at home with the weakest Man Utd team of the millennium, we simply couldn't tailspin out of control. Two games in five days was more than this small team could probably have handled. Plus, we've got winnable games coming up the next three games and a lot of games yet to play this year. This is a marathon, and it may not be best to spending energy to stay at the front of the pack at mile marker 19. Esp when Chelsea and Man City have been dropping points to teams they "should" be beating. We're still very much in the race for the Premiership. I'd like our chances better with Theo and Aaron, but we've got enough talent to make a serious run. Though I would love to know what is the source of Wenger's Podolski-hate.
Agree with this, and was thinking the same yesterday, but was too frustrated and disappointed to spit it out. Wenger is the manager, not a fan. The fans are desperate for a win over ManU, while Wenger isn't. Wenger knows we don't need to beat the other Big 4 teams to win the title.
The way Poldi is being treated I am guessing he made a reference to his love for Nazi paraphernalia while looking at Wenger's dead grandpas pic. The one that died in WWII
I would have brought on Gnabry _and_ Ox. But that wasn't an option at gametime, because unless the match summaries are mistaken Gnabry was left off the bench in favor of Sanogo who IIRC hasn't made a solitary senior appearance. Fcuking incompetent.
Come on, give it a rest already. Hint: responses to say that you're not responding are responses, not non-responses.
