i think he didn't want gibbs to breakdown with an injury again, so gave him extra rest, maybe also hoping monreal would find form with a couple of extra games run. reasonable enough idea if it had worked.
Gibbs is a stud and please give Sagna what he is asking for. They outside backs dont get enough credit on our defensive form this year.
I recommend HGH. American pro-players use that all the time and they are breaking records left and right.
I would love to believe that, but I have trouble thinking that Wenger ever rests anyone to prevent injury. I'd bet that he wanted to boost Monreal's confidence by starting him.
F that. _With the team we had available today_, we win this game if we can get the right people out there.
Bullshit. He wasn't some kind of jackrabbit on crystal meth but he had more than enough legs. He just can't take on the whole defense one against four. JFW, Arteta and Giroud were the ones out of gas.
We have to improve quite a bit to tiki taka. Tiki taka means that you pass to people on your team not the other team.
i have to admit, i'm mostly just happy that this wasn't a loss. it was frustrating that the team decided to settle for the point at the end, however van persie and rooney are always capable of making something happen, as they very nearly did. the fact that people on here are saying that this was as bad as the liverpool game, etc is absolutely bizarre. wenger should have done more in the january window, but i have to say, i find it ridiculous that people are jumping on his back again during this tough spell. it's february and arsenal are a point off of first. remember how everyone felt back in august? there's still a long way to go. time to get revenge on liverpool in the cup and cut this negativity out.
Yeah, that. The idea that it's less risky to stagnate with the ball instead of making actual intelligent movement, let's just say that was very frustrating.
We should still be in the thick of things by the end of the month, just hoping Ramsey comes back 100%. He should gives us a boost to finish up the season
fck, frack, fcker........ I almost squeezed my computer's mouse to pieces after the final whistle. I should really avoid watching these big games at work... I've been a Giroud backer all year, After this however: too slow, not a great finisher, USELESS...
I think we're in a tricky position because Wenger has A LOT of merit as a manager. He identifies talent well. He builds good teams that play attractive soccer. He's tidy with finances. On the other hand, it seems like there's a ceiling on how high we can go with him. We're right on the brink of being an incredible team, but we can't seem to find the missing ingredients. We don't look scary good against quality opposition. Even in the Cesc/RVP/Nasri years, there were times when we looked unstoppable. It might be as simple as that we have a better defense now than we did then, but a weaker offense. If I could trade Giroud/Cazorla/Ozil for RVP/Nasri/Cesc, I probably make that exchange. It's close, but I think the gap between RVP and Giroud makes a huge difference. I don't mean to heap it all on Giroud because it's not all his fault, but frankly he looks like a B+ player on a team that requires an A standard. Fact is that he would not start for City, United, Bayern, Madrid, Barca, or Chelsea. If we want to beat those teams, we need to have equivalent or better talent. So for me identifying and acquiring a truly world class striker is a big summer priority. That one thing might be enough to push us over the hump. Now will Wenger actually do that or will he stand pat and make a couple minor acquisitions? That is a huge question. I'm inclined to give him one more season to build a trophy winning team despite my frustration at our perpetual bridesemaid's plateau.
Looking at the table, not only are we fighting for top of the league, we are also fighting to stay top 4. Freaking scary.
While a full 3 pts would be nice, I for one was relieved when I saw the more defensive posture of the team. In past years Wenger was such a purist we would have taken risks. Looking at the big picture, draws against the big teams and then wins against the lower half of the table can serve us well. If we can get through this tough period with only a few point swing we are in as good a position as anyone to win the title. With that said, I do understand things would look a lot worse if Chelsea and City had been more consistent.
Let's hope AW is able to see our #1 need by FAR this summer is a FW. Giroud is a very good FW, but we are at the point where ELITE players are needed to get to where we want to be. The same could be said for Arteta except he is good, not even very good for our level.
Denilson = Arteta, to him. I disagree because Denilson did a good job at keeping the ball when pressed.
This team is better at winning the games they're supposed to win. The 2010-2011 team was better at winning games they weren't supposed to win. Even when we came up against Barca that year, I really and truly felt we had the ability to play them level. This year's team doesn't have such a high ceiling. It's rare that they really look dominant.
For idiots like bandwagooner he has to pass to himself and then score himself. After ozil created 2 superb chance that moron asked for himt o be replaced coz he was tired...
I luckily did not get to watch this, but why wasn't Poldi playing? Was he injured? Or was it only his pride damaged by having to watch this rubbish from the bench?
