No, I was trying to say the rules have not changed. The cup-tied rule still exists. If you play in any UEFA Champions League or UEFA Cup game for one club, you can't play for another club in either competition during the same season.

This team will have us falling short of the scudetto again. Improvements are needed all around.

I dont really rate Camoranesi or Birindelli for that matter. Otherwise I think its a pretty solid lineup, I just wanted to confirm if I had got the new setup right ( I havn't seen any Juve preseason games).

I'd look out for a couple of defenders to bolster the squad.

A successfull offseason would have netted us:

    Difensori:
Two from Bonera, Ferrari, or Mexes

    Centrocampisti:
    Emerson

    Centravanti:
    Zlatan
    Gilardino

Not selling Maresca would have been nice as well.

Juve will most likely pick up 1 defender and 1 attacker. This is quite obvious. Gilardino looks to be ending up in rome, although i still believe Moggi secretly has his hands all over him and isnt letting anyone know. Bonera is not in the plans of Juventus (for this year at least). I would look at Cannavaro from Inter as he may be making the move to Juve soon. Also look out for Jankulovsky as he was rumoured to be close to Juve, although then the rumours fell through. Cesar is another candidate though he's a middy-winger.

Here are some names that are being looked at by Juve (at least this is what people are reporting)

    Backs:
    Cannavaro - Oddo - Jankulovsky - Bonera - Juan - Sol Campbell.

Sol will most likely not be bought as Arsenal are about to sell Vieira to Real and dont want to totally dismantle their squad.

    Attack:
    Gilardino

Unrelated news: I will be watching the Milan practice on sunday in most likely the front row :) .

I will be bringing my Italy 94' jersey in hopes that paolo might sign it. Maybe i will bring another italian jersey for pirlo, gattuso, and the rest.... Can't wait to see Kaka in action, should be great.

We had great success in getting Autographs from Roy Keane Bellion and the Nevilles, and many more last tuesday at their practice. I hope i have the same success on sunday :)

A few days ago, Baldini (Roma's GM) said that Roma are no longer in the race for Gilardino as Parma are not going to sell him this summer. Today Moggi repeated that Juventus' transfer market is closed. They do not need another striker because when they play, they dont want anyone sitting not being called up for the match.

It was recently reported on Goal.com that Juve made a substantial bid for Bonera. It was estimated to be about 6 million Euros. Which they said was an offer too good for Parma to ignore.

I also saw that news about Juve's interest in Mutu. Personally, I could care less whether Juve gets Mutu or not. To me, he is more trouble than he is worth.

I am, however, excited about the potential capture of Bonera.

Supposedly Mutu's agent was on Romanian tv tonight and confirmed that he will be a
    Juve player as of tomorrow.

Roman Abramovich is the best thing to happen to Serie A. He buys our players for rediculous sums(in today's market) and gives us them back for nothing. Thank you Roman :) Although I would rather Mutu not go to Juve ;)

I think Moggi is foolish if he thought we'd believe him when he said the juve market is closed. Look for Mutu to come and play in torino. Gilardino is looking ever so closer to Roma and Bonera said we'll talk about his transfer status after the Olympics.

This week i saw Milan and Roma live both against english teams that are ahead in preperation.

My impressions: Milan played well, the back line is probably the best in the world, Maldini and Nesta played great and so did Kaladze and Cafu. Add Stam and you have an amazing back line. Dhorasoo is going to be a good player, he played in Pirlo's role and held the ball well. Crespo - Sheva connection didnt work out well this game although i think they just need time. Milan looks better than they did last year. Hopefully Juve look a little better than they did last year :)

Roma played their second team. Totti got hurt, Cassano was in Italy with Mancini and Perrotta. De Rossi is at the olympics with Pellizoli.
From what i saw, De Agostino has a great left foot. Pannucci hit a free kick off the post from del piero range. Roma has A LOT of youngsters that can play well. The back 4 looked a little weak though, Dellas didnt play so that didnt help.

    Mutu in Black and White

Agent: Mutu to Juve is 99% certain

Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu is set to join Juventus on a year-long loan, according to his agent.
The Italian club have been pursuing the Romanian international for several weeks and could complete the transfer imminently.
'It's now 99% likely that Mutu will sign a contract with Juventus Torino today,' Mutu's agent, Ioan Becali, told Romanian channel TV Sport.
Mutu is to fly to Turin for a medical, and it is expected that he will sign a 12-month contract.

His departure from Stamford Bridge, albeit on a temporary basis, comes just a year after he signed from Parma.
The 25-year-old cost Chelsea £15.8million, but after a bright start to his career in the Premiership there came a lull in his performances and he finished last season with just six league goals.
The arrival of Didier Drogba apparently pushed Mutu to the back of the queue for places in Jose Mourinho's attack.
The Romanian was a major success in Italian football, and scored 17 goals in 30 matches during the 2002/03 season before signing for Chelsea, forging a lethal partnership with Adriano, who has since joined Inter Milan, another of Mutu's former clubs.

Yeah well I guess if our pockets are too tight to go after a promising forward like Gilardino, we might as well go after a Chelsea reject like Mutu or "old man" Hasselbaink

Re: Mutu in Black and White

Mutu is not entirely step down. he has a great record of Serie A success behind him. He can play as a striker, and also on the wing, that would give Capello a lot of options.

He is part of a growing list of Abramovich's misfits, bought for huge fes but since discarded. Veron, Crespo, and others were not all too bad, they just were bought and replaced according to a whim.

I will be willing to wager Mutu does very well this season and Juve or another Serie A team attempt to buy him from Chelsea.

How does everyone else think of the Mutu loan deal? Personally I think it would be good and would seriously strengthen our attack. It would give us a lot more depth and ability to attack.

Plus it seems Moggi was not completely true in saying we were done with transfers, maybe there will be one more if the details are right.

Re: Mutu in Black and White

Seems like Mutu, Crespo, and Veron are all better suited for Serie A instead of the EPL. That is just what I have been reading on the Net. I think with Mutu being young and Juventus needing goals, this is perfect fit.

    Here are Mutu's Stats:

    96-98 Arges Dacia Pitesti Matches=51, Goals=14
    98-00 Dinamo Bucharest Matches=41, Goals=29
    99-00 Inter Milan Matches=14, Goals=2
    00-01 Hellas Verona Matches=62, Goals=17
    02-03 Parma AC Matches=36, Goals=22
    03-... Chelsea London Matches=29, Goals=10

Minus, a dismal stop in Inter Milan, he has been above average to down right lethal!

We'll see if you think that way after Italian teams start meeting Chelsea in the CL. ;) That didn't work out so well for Italy last year. (Or Lazio, for that matter.)

I'm praying that Milan face an English team in the CL. Milan fear no one. And Juve with Mutu is a much better team than w/o him, IMO. Adding him doesn't make them rely on Del Piero that much. And if Capello had any balls he would bench him in favor of Miccoli or Mutu. Inter and Roma don't look like potential winners in the CL so I would favor Chelsea against those two. But against Milan/Juve I would favor the Italians.
