I'll post any tweets, hopefully those who attended can add some insight afterwards.

Sounds like there's some internet access issues, so not any real updates since the beginning. Will have to wait until people get back home I guess.

As far as Twitter goes not too much positive coming out, as I am sure was expected. Hopefully somebody caught something that was said that was of interest.

Not sure what if anything is being posted to Midnight Riders boards, but can someone with access cross post it here.

Unless of course there was nothing reportable, and therefore nothing being posted.

    Twitter looks just about dead.

Don't cross post from the Riders boards. That is for paid members.

If you're a Revs fans and can't front the $10 per year I don't know what to say.

Really? Now I am not going to do a full rant because I do respect the majority of the member of the Riders and appreciate what they have done and don't want to derail but...... This is exactly why I have not been a member of the Riders for years, and why the Riders have some haters in the general fanbase. There are a number of members, fortunately a minority but too many, who have this exact attitude you have that turns people off to not only the Riders, but the Fort and even the Revolution in general.
Please think about how you come off when speaking of the Riders.

The event is designed to add value to the membership. It's planned and scheduled by the Supporters Groups to allow our members greater access.

I hardly feel that having one exclusive event makes us an exclusionary group but you've already made up your mind so I don't think I'll be convincing you to change your opinion. You are a BigSoccer poster after all.

I simply don't think that someone should go into a private message board and lift all of the information from the meeting and post it here.

If there is anything specific that you are wondering about if they addressed I'm sure someone can give the information you want.

    My two cents...

I thought Mike Burns actually came off really well. He answered a lot of the questions candidly despite getting a bit defensive as well. His take on Jose was interesting saying that pretty much every pro athlete thinks they should pay more.

I thought Billelo was, in general, fine but his "answer" about public/group transit to the games was unsatisfactory. Pretty much said we'd love buses bringing in 3000 fans but the 50 fans aren't worth it. Then dodged questions about other MLS teams (philly and Chicago) who do pub buses to matches.

No don't, what happens at the SS stays at the SS.

So, you got your access. Good planning and scheduling! But access<>news. They are different things. Access means you get to see them and frame the questions, and eat the nice snacks. The news is what comes out of it. (Keep in mind that if the Revs were a relevant team, then there would likely have been press coverage. And then news. And the press coverage would threaten the "value to membership".)

No need to cut and paste (lift). Bad word choice ("cross post") by me - it implied literally. I actually meant anything of interest. Didn't for once think that what got discussed at SS was intended to be completely suppressed from general discussion outside of MR boards.

If I knew specifically what was said, then there would be no reason (nor value) to ask about what specifically was said. Circular reference.

Bottom line is that there seems to be nothing of interest based on anything on Twitter or here on BigSoccer. I was trying to validate if that were true, but in hindsight it was a wasted question. I already knew the answer. Anything of real news value would have been or will be out in the press. Since there is nothing out in the press, then there was no real news.

[So if there is something discussed last night, it's not really news, but please continue to preserve value and keep it a secret! ]

But again, I guess I already knew that, before the SS happened.

That's fine and I understand that, but the a****le response in your first response was what I was referring too.

I don't understand what was rude about his post. The Midnight Riders board is for paid members, and is one of the benefits of being a paid member. There's no reason to crosspost things here.

Sorry he is 100%. It is a paid membership and the boards are private. The work that is done in there in intended for Midnight Riders members. The person who is posting on there is intending his/her work to be seen by members only. It is not a public forum like this forum.

    Probably this part:

There are a few implications there that can be derived from such a simple statement.
    - Could be: You're not a real Revs fan if you don't join for $10
    - Or: Some people/families might have to watch every penny & a flippant attitude to any amount of money can serve as a stinging reminder
    - Or: Shutting out other points of view by being dismissive

I'm not at all saying any of this was the intent. Actually I see the merit of both sides of "private conversation"/"free information" contention forming here, but I can see where others might take exception in this matter.

Maybe I should grab a bowl of popcorn. This is shaping up to be more entertaining than the Rev's off-season!

I have it on good authority that the majority of the event was spent discussing ways to "sex up" the Rev girls.

OK, enough about the Riders part of the discussion.

I'll be honest and say I didn't go to this for two reasons. No interest to drive into Boston in the evening is the smaller reason ... the larger one, I expected nothing but the same answers by those involved. Sadly, it seems from what I've heard ... that's pretty much what was done.

Don't know about you guys but a lack of focus on midfield "bite" concerns me. Yes, we need to replace Agudelo but the more time passes I'm beginning to be resigned to the fact his replacement will be done by committee as opposed to going after 1 guy. This should be enough to supplement his 7 goals from last year (hopefully it's 7+ each):
    Bengtson
    Davies
    Sene (6 - 8 weeks from now)
    Diego
    plus, goals from:
    Mullins
    Rowe
    etc

If the rest of our forward corps can't pick it up and provide enough of a threat without him, they shouldn't be here. We need a ball winner in the middle of the park who can shut down a counter, win the ball, then quickly find outlets to aid to our attack. Caldwell showed well last season but we need more than the kid if we're going to get out of the Eastern conference.
