I am also going to revise my statement; he is going to retire and join the television team for locally broadcast games.

Now I am just making things up.

As thin as we are up top I just don't see him being in our plans without any Champions League. Granted plans change but until they do I see him being up in Pittsburgh.

Right, that's logical based on the fact that he was in the Academy last year. However, no one here has seen enough of the kid one way or the other to make any type of determination IMHO. I was just saying its not like our midfield where it seems to appear a combination of OBG, Brad Davis, Cascio, Carrasco, and Driver may legitimately hinder the opportunity a Brian Ownby gets.

It will be interesting to see who gets the nod for the loan as there are several candidates. I doubt Dom sends more than the four required up to Pitt, so you have several guys who could benefit from playing time that will likely be stuck at the end of the bench or in the stands on games days:

Salazar, Sherrod, Ownby, Arena, Cochrane, Lisch, maybe Lopez for a bit, plus if we sign the trialist kid from Austin.

That is as many as 8 guys for four spots in Pitts. So, given how thin we are up top, my guess would be only one of Salazar and Sherrod end up in Pitt.

If you don't have anything else to do tomorrow, the Dynamo Academy plays them tomorrow.

Do you notice anything that "sticks out" in this picture that is troublesome and might be troublesome for Dom? I can give a hint later if no one gets it.

i don't see anything sticking out. Nobody seems to have any ankle or knee or thigh braces/sleeves/etc, which is awesome.

Yup. I see someone who has put on considerable weight and will probably be shipped off to Pittsburgh to work it off.

I thought Salazar looked big at practice, but then saw some of Nigel's pictures and thought I might have been mistaken.

I can see that he'll burn that off in 2 weeks.

Looking at these players, if they can get on the same page, the Dynamo will play some very nice football this year. Lots of potential.

we definitely have a young team for once. Could bode well for the future, just hope that future comes sooner rather than later.

Yeah he's a young buck. He can lose most of that by March 8th.

Would sending Lopez to Pittsburgh be a bad sign?

we never really played with a AM last season, how are we going to work one into the system this year?

The optics of sending a DP signing to USL are poor. You have limited DP slots to work with and you waste one in the minors - will look bad.

do we know when the DP status will drop from him? (and from OBG?)

troutseth, is there annnny transparency or understanding on how DPs-only-because-of-transfer-fee get their status reduced? Will OBG always be considered a DP?

Well....I am near 100% certain on this....you are a DP for the length of the contract as of a few years ago (wasn't the original rule) unless the team uses allocation money.

We only ever had 1 healthy forward last year. This year we've a few. I see Giles going back to his AM slot and Warren being numero uno off the bench and Alex backing up Giles and Omar up top.

Which sucks for Warren but the other option is sitting a healthy (and very expensive...and getting up there in years) Omar.

I think it does offer us options to taylor our team to best beat anyone, though, which is something we could never do last year.

As I understand it from a conversation with Canetti is the team can choose over how many years you amortize the transfer fee. It is not necessarily tied to the length of the contract.

Alex Lopez up front? Can we get him a magic jet pack to increase his pace?
