Iran is definitely the most infuriatingly inconsistent team in asia... and perhaps the world... sometimes they just puzzle me.

U know i stayed up all night for this game.. waited for the hype and for the glory once more as i have done many many times before. i still had faith in team melli and i still do. i dont care much that iran lost to china in pk, or that japan might be able to tie iran's record, but what bothers me is the double standards imposed by some ref's.
zareh was sent off for an ACT.. fine but how do u explain the foul on karimi. tackle from behind just outside the box ina 100 percent one on one situation with the keeper...... that my friends is a red card. no matter where in the world u play THAT is a red card. home advatange .. my ********in ass .. the chinese didnt deserve to win this game.. Oman deserved to win against iran because they were good.. chinese were no better than thiland.. the fact that they couldnt finish about a 100 chances in the box says that they should not be in the finals...
controversial game overall. except Badavi i think everyone else ...even golmohammadi did fine.. they couldnt do nemore and trust me when ur physically dead tired after 120 mins of playing 75 of it with 10 men.. first thing u lose is ur focus. 2nd ur ambition...
i hope for the better team to come out with the trophy and i hope it will be japan.. because they are better than chinese and they deserve the cup.

The conclusion that I personally drew from China's performance today is that they could not do anything for 75 minutes, even though they were up a man and were the host.

Iran disappointed me, but after the second half China disappointed me even more. It felt like they were just dragging their feet for 75 minutes, not knowing what to do. They had a few good individual efforts (the far shot that hit the post) but I felt there was no sign of planning. Badavi should have definitely sent it home in the 93rd minute, that would have been the best way to end the match.

I think it's appropriate to say that even I had concerns about the refs actions in this game, especially the red card to Zare and not giving the red card for the foul on Karimi and also the kick to Kaebi...

Anyway, congrats to China for making it to the finals.

At the end of the day results speaks...China made the semis of lebanon 2000, iran did not. China made wc 2002 iran did not. China made the finals of 2004 AC, Iran...did not. So for people who posted here and said Iran is better than china, well it doesnt seem so from the recent results now does it!!!

Game reminded me a lot of Spain vs Korea in WC 2002. You knew which team was "supposed to win" but they couldn't finish off the other guy.

Yea that last kick was embarassing I dunno wtf the coach was thinking letting a defender (yahya golmohmadi) taking the penalty kick where we have a player like karimi who has scored many of his goals in the UAE league and national team from the penalty spot. But Iman's miss was the one that hurt us, it looked like as it was a good penalty but it hit the cross bar unlucky..

oh and yea I agree that we are the most inconsistent team in the world!

Actually that was a pretty good shot. Word cannot describe the pressure he felt at that time, and look at the Jordan penalties against Japan that hit the post... he tried a calm shot ala Postiga but the keeper dived the right way. Unfortunate.
