i thought of him too. hopefully, whomever he signs will be a move up the club ladder for that player and not a lateral or downward move. how many yanks can he/will he bring over?

A few seasons in Norway, maybe he catches on success and can get a move to a club in Holland/Belgium.

Why waste efforts? Norwegians will kill you anyway.

I don't think so. 100% of the coaches in BL2 are from Germany, Austria or Switzerland, and native speakers in German.

    Yes.

Another factor is, that Germany didn't just overhaul the youth infrastructure, but also the coaching, trying to get more former players into coaching and managing football clubs. This is currently leading to a great influx of young coaches into the German coaching market.

Hannover, who were mentioned on this thread, just signed Tayfun Korkut, who hadn't had any previous experience coaching at the top level, but who came through the German coaching system. He finished his qualification in 2011, and of the others from that same course, Schneider, Gisdol and Weinzierl are coaching Bundesliga Clubs already (Stuttgart, Hoffenheim and Augsburg, respectively), plus there is Schmidt at Salzburg, Lewandowski as co- trainer at Leverkusen, Krämer at Bielefeld, another Schmidt at Heidenheim and Kienle at Wehen Wiesbaden. All from that one group.

However, if Bradley does well in Norway, I think a jump to the EPL or Championship would be quite possible, perhaps even after just one or two good seasons.

A bit odd that they end the video with fans setting the stands on fire, no?

all goodies, i think the first three got their gen ads coming up on expiring. I hope the likes of Wenger and Zavaleta on loan too. George John maybe for veteran leadership too :p , wont be short of options. I hope he does bring over a few from murcuh certainly

Powers may be a harder reach since he just signed a contract.

Does Zak Abdel count? One would think he'd be likely to join Bob.

Fresh interview from Seltzer just popped up on mlssoccer.com. Here's your answer to that question:

Anyone know what kind of salaries Staebak will be able to pay? I almost wonder if MLS players will be too expensive...

This job seems like it would be an incredible challenge in Football Manager, let alone real life.

I would imagine at a club like Stabaek, where money is tight, salaries are going to even or slightly above MLS standards. I can't imagine them shelling out 200K for some player. I just don't seeing it happening unless he is the star of the team and the idea is to sell him for bigger cash down the road.

With that said, Bradley, as he indicated, he's willing to explore his American options. He mentioned the need for some veterans. He could probably explore some of the MLS players they were not selected during the MLS Re-entry draft. It's a start. Maybe a guy like Heath Pearce, a vet with considerable MLS and Europe experience -- yet is young enough to still have plenty in the tank -- is worth a look. Of course salary may be a stumbling block like it was in NY. Plus, he has a long history with Bob. A guy like Ryan Miller, who couldn't latch onto Portland but was successful in Sweden could be an option. Others like Justin Braun, Brandon McDonald, and Daniel Woolard are all available and could probably be brought in on reasonable salaries. It's probably a given Bob won't snag a current USMNT player or even a MLS Best XI player due to salary but he could easily find some MLS talent. But I don't expect Bob to go stir crazy with American and Egyptian players. He seems like a guy that would keep the core of a young Stabeak team and really exploit their talents and build on that.

I'm sorry guys, but I see him going after Freddy Adu. Why not, he is a free agent, very talented and will be very cheap or at least I wouldn't offer him a lot of money. Is he willing to work hard? That is something Bob can evaluate and if he is done then he is done. He basically needs a lot of decent players that are free agents and don't require a high salary, Freddy is one.

Bornstein for a club record fee?

    LOL. Had to be done.

I'll be pulling for Bob. If he brings some Yank talent aboard, all the merrier.

Davies is already headed back to NE and I highly doubt any of the others besides maaaybe conceivably Wooten would go to Norway.

How long is the contract for? What are the realistic expectations? Not be relegated? Get to a Europa League spot?

If he achieves say a title win or a Europa League spot and gets them a deep run, could he somehow get to Belgium/Holland or Championship?
