I've recently gotten FIFA 14 on my PS4 and am in need of assistance. I have two areas of need central defensive midfield and at striker. I've lost Tchani in midfield and have gone from playing like Barcelona to playing like...well...Columbus Crew. Additionally, the finishing from Finley and Arrieta leaves acres to be desired (putting it mildly, the finishing is diabolical). What have others done to bolster the side? My scouts are only coming up with players $2M and above to booster my side, and I've only $1.2M to spend (game must not have registered our new San Franciscan Sugar Daddy). Much obliged for the assistance. The board on this game thinks a semi-final playoff position is a legitimate objective. In which case I will change my manager name to 'Oh Holy One' as I will have turned water into wine. Thx in advance.

When you say you have lost Tchani. What exactly do you mean?

Down the back of the sofa? He shows up as being on the pitch but you can't see him? If it is the latter then FIFA 14 is very realistic.

He's taken a 4-6 week knock on his ankle. Tchani in the games leading up to his injury was brilliant, safe as houses in possession and constantly winning the ball back. He's even chipped in with the odd goal, which was helpful as I mentioned, Arrieta looks more likely to hit a fan than the back of the net. I'm certain to get the sack in the first year if I don't find a striker and find some depth in the center of midfield. Yet another unrealistic part of the game, as no matter what I finish Crew board are adeptly keen at keeping managers way past the sell by date.

David O'Hara can say it better than I can.

I just started my Fifa 14 career on Xbox360 last week and I picked the Crew. I usually go out looking for a young forward who is listed on loan. Then I look at their contract if they only have 1 year or less I give the club a low ball bid. It takes some searching and time (I dont scout because it takes to long. I look at just their stats listed). I usually end up with a player who is a high 60 or low 70 and is a better finisher than what the Crew have.

Get Paladini for your midfield. Trade Marshall to Seattle. Trade Gruenebaum to SKC.

You can figure out the rest.

Can you pick up Mamadou Diallo? I hear he might be a diamond in the rough.

On the advice of Placido del Casualo I have put Oduro in at striker and it's come off very well. His first game at striker and he's bagged a hat trick. Mind you that was against the worst team in the league, but it's buoyed the side no doubt. I'm running out of places to hide Arrieta, I've put him on the right temporarily but he's a give away machine. While on the mend, Tchani has apparently gone to the press to let them know he's unsettled. We're set to have crisis talks tomorrow morning when I play again. I have set up scouts abroad and had some luck in Brazil, however, many of the players that the scouts have brought to my attention will not be sold by their clubs. Must figure out a way to get money out of the board, it takes money to play super massive football. I wonder if Sunderland would have interest in $500k for Jozy Altidore...I'd not pay a penny more than that.

I also plan to write EA Sports in the morning because I'm unable to scout countries like Trinidad or Costa Rica. Crew have had some luck in these far flung locales, as have other teams in MLS. I've not sent scouts yet to europe, because as we are well aware, the moment you announce you're from Columbus Crew you come home with something like Miroslav Rzepa. Or even worse that one guy that was married to that one bird who was in Page 3.

No this is serious business we're working on a four part double blind scientific test to find out which is more accurate FIFA or Football Manager. First people are running 10,000 simulations of the upcoming season recording not just results but also player stats. Then others are going to break down the real life results and player stats against the averages produced from the simulations. They will compare them for accuracy by month so we know if say FM is more accurate than FIFA in December but it reverses in January. Finally the report will be released at the beginning of the next off season so people know which game to run their simulations on to base their expectations for the next season.

Disaster has struck, Trapp has had a training ground incident and will be out for 4 months with a torn quadricep. This however has allowed me to put back onto the field an emotionally wayward Tchani. However, Crew have been on a delightful run of form and have worked their way back up to second in the east only seven points behind the Red Bulls of New York.

I have sent an email to EA Sports customer support asking that they grant me the cheat code that would allow me access to set up scouting networks in Trinidad, Jamaica, and Costa Rica. I felt asking for the code that would allow Puerto Rico, Antigua, and the Dominican Republic would have perhaps been pushing my luck. I emphasized with Customer Service that Crew are an international brand, and as such should have access to cheat codes that would allow for the scouting of the afore mentioned countries.

I am now having issues with my back line, even though I have only conceded 3 goals in 12 games. With the exception of Josh Williams, who has proven himself to be the United States version of Marcel Desailly, none of my defenders are able to get a rating above 6.5. Specifically I find that Viana is not making the runs he should do. What would folks suggest the best back four would be? Keep in mind I won't be moving J Williams out of the centre of defense as I suspect he is destined for a Tony Adams like future.

Yet more anguish. The transfer window has opened and Tchani has shocked his team and the management at Crew and put in a transfer request. It's terrible news because all the man does is win the ball back in midfield, and I'm uncertain I'll be able to replace that level of skill. Thankfully I walked away with $500k from Rapids as a result.

Stuttgart have come in with a $7M bid for Higuain, how could I refuse? On the same level Salzberg have bid $750k for Greenbaum, I've sold him as well.

So the search is on....I need at least three player and I need them urgently. I just can't see playing O'Rourke as Tchani's replacement. I must follow up with EA on those cheat codes as now it's gone from an ask to a priority...

What is your review of FIFA on ps4? We have the demo but not sure if we want to buy the full game right now. We are getting lots of use out of Lego marvel and battlefield.

O'Rourke is a adequate defensive mid so it shouldn't really be that noticeable a difference.

Selling players as a MLS side is not advisable because you wont be able to replace them because the league is not prestigious enough for a lot of international players. As good as that 7 mil is, trying to get players for him is tough.

Can you get Eto'o as your striker? I suggest you get him. Herein ends my knowledge of the broken players in FIFA14.

I was able to spend a bit of cash from my sales. I got some chap called Filipe from Montreal to fill in for Higuan. I got a French centreback from Sporting KC because Marshall now feels unsettled because he's not being paid enough. Lampson for Greenbaum has been pretty much a disaster so I picked up a mexican goalkeeper on loan, who is equally as bad. In short with a few days left in the window I need to get a RB and a GK. Houston has rated that Kofi character at $2.3M, and NE has a RB who is apparently pretty good that has been valued at about the same. In talks with LA for Sean Franklin at $750k. Any advice on a RB or GK I could pick up? I have around $3M to spend.
