Well that was pretty cool. We arrived about 6:15 (the last possible minute) after being shuttled around to the wrong door a few times. We were absolutely drenched but had no time to get sorted as they threw us a new kit and said run out and meet Chelsea as they were arriving on the bus. On the way out we saw Jack Wilshere in regular dress so we got a few pics with him. Then he greeted Chelsea off the bus and we went back to the locker room to get sorted a bit. Then it was out to meet the Arsenal side as they arrived, and we then followed them to the locker room where my son went in to meet all the players and get his jersey signed (dad had to wait outside). Afterwards it was onto the pitch to check things out and then up to the luxury boxes to get instructions on what we would do during the pre-game. We went back down and waited for the team to come out for warm ups and then my son got to go on the field and snap pics with a few players. They then did an Arsenal TV interview and we went back inside to gather our things as we wouldn't be back in the changing room again. They escorted us to the tunnel where the boys were left to await the teams and the dads went outside to snap pics. The teams came out, Sky TV cameramen blocked my view (grr), and the boys did the handshakes and played kick with Gunnersaur before doing the official captain photo. As soon as he got off the field a steward took us directly to our seats and we sat back to watch the game. Quite an amazing day. He got to meet the entire team and has a photo with each player. Certainly something he won't forget anytime soon.
Yea, it took me quite awhile, but I managed to do a write up of the night for my blog. You can find it here: http://penguinsix.com/2014/04/07/what-is-it-like-to-be-the-arsenal-mascot/
