Im not a culer. But either way the opponents were difficult but not to the extent that Spain was in 2010 or Germany (arguable) and even if that german team WAS better than this one, its a testament to how good that argentina team actually was during that tournament. Forget all the fairy tales. They only conceded 6 goals the whole entire tournament and won the whole thing. That had little to do with Maradona, Argentina in 2010 conceded 6 goals and only reached the quarter finals, now thats terrible defense

You can make up all the fairy tales you want, but its physically impossible to move from the opponents box to yours to defend faster than someone can kick the ball, unless Maradona can teleport

First Barca 10-13 >>>>>>>> Inter98-02 (weak squad) , and Real03-06 (only big names on paper)
Most games R9 played 99-01 were as SUBS in last 20minutes (between 3 injuries)
02-03 were his best CL with Real (still got 2 injuries before QF and before SF)
04-06 were disasters , agree .. but he was also plucked with injuries ..

No, defiantly not, if Messi didn't play for a good team, he wouldn't be as famous. Barcelona is smart with their money and has good players. But unlike Real Madrid, they are not smart with their money. But if you but Ronaldo in premier league, he would still do great.

I'm pretty sure if anyone was so good that they could carry the Indian National team to a WC win they would probably be one of the greatest players ever and definitely the greatest Asian player of all time.

Well look at the bright side .. It only took Japan half a century to build up a decent team (often top3 in Asia) LOL
China had been invested quite a bit since last 25 years ,,, and will see

Too be fair though, I think Japan only started taking Soccer and Youth development seriously like 15 to 20 years ago.

Yes, I always tell my family that Argentina will win the world cup next year in Brazil because of Messi. And I always add that he he is so awesome that even if he played for our weak national team ("Bafana Bafana" -South Africa) or any other weak team, they are automatically in contention to win the world cup -he is that good. So argentina having players like zabaleta, higuain, di maria, aguero along side him makes them sure winners for me.

He hopefully will keep progressing in his football career and hence will certainly go down as one of the greatest, I dont believe we can ever say that there is a "greatest" footballer because each individual plays in different times under different circumstances and scenarios- as well as the reality that the game football continues moving forward with the passage of time with the possibility of someone as great emerging always remaining.
