Agreed. Impressive vs good defenses too. Fitzpatrick played Jacksonville when they were still struggling, a putrid Oakland defense and a dysfunctional Indy. Not exactly an apples and oranges comparison IMO.

Locker's first two starts were struggles and then he strung together 3 impressive starts. Unfortunately he got hurt in the SF game, missed time, didn't show the same effectiveness vs STL and got hurt again.

With the way business in the NFL is done, that makes sense.

If the Titans get rid of Locker, teams like Arizona should really give a look.

Yea.... I actually wonder what Bruce Arians thinks about Locker. Look at what he has done with Palmer this year, he is in the running for coach of the year once again.

    I did. I wasn't terribly impressed.

Let's put it this way; if I had Cutler and Locker I'd start Cutler.

Doesn't mean I'd give up on Locker, but...

And yet if you set single game records for a team with a high achievement history, that suggests you actually can.

Coming out of college, I hated his pro prospects-- he was tough and smart and made great reads, but he couldn't throw at all-- seemed to me to have less arm than Steve Walsh...

Then he showed up for the Packers preseason and started making all of the throws he couldn't make for LSU? Leading me to the belief that there were serious flaws in his mechanics which the GB staff had been able to correct.

Then he had his two games of fame and made sixteen million bucks or whatever, and I thought going to Seattle where an offense was rising would be a good thing for him.

Then Wilson turned out to be even better than expected; I don't think that really counts against Flynn, as Wilson's talents were simply a better fit for the other guys on the Seattle offense, and he's a better player overall as well.

Then he went to Oakland, which looked like a terrible idea, and proved to be so; and there he suddenly couldn't throw any better than Terrell Prior, who had no idea how to throw a football at all.

My tentative conclusion is that he is playing hurt somehow; or that whatever the mechanics-problem from LSU was it has returned, although I haven't spotted it... or that his confidence was so trashed by the whole odyssey that he needs his old coaches back. Time will tell.

    Okay, I'll expand a little.

I don't think he has developed his touch on dinks and dunks and screens at all. He's not Sanchez bad at them, but he doesn't set the receivers up very well; and there probably is no more dangerous player in the league than Chris Johnson if you get the ball where he can take it in rhythm and on the run, instead of feeling for it and securing it before he can start. Not being able to set him in particular up properly is a terrific waste

Locker also seems to me to miss badly on about one downfield throw in every six or eight; and in this league those are apt to come back at you.

And lastly I think he's partially responsible for getting himself hurt (which is not a charge I make against QB's very often.) One thing you can say about Flynn-- when the meanies are about to arrive he does a very good job of pulling in all the stray limbs to where they can't be bent, twisted, or fallen on. Locker always seems to lose track of one or two...

On the plus side he's a tremendous athlete with a top flight arm for strength.

The Chargers gave the Patriots a huge Christmas present. They better take advantage of it.

    Gronk though :(

Manning vs. Brady in the AFC Championship game. I feel like I've read this script several times before.

I think the Steelers' actual logo (yeah, I know, but the "ers" part makes it a whole new design :) ) is classy enough for use with a soccer kit. Ravens, Raiders (maybe), Titans and Dolphins, too. It's really the baseball and basketball stuff that gets gaudy.

Soooo.... poor old Randy Starks. I think it's fair to say that this has been a tough year for Miami's offensive linemen in general.

That has to be edited. The Steelers are way to classy for that kind of stuff...

Perfect example of why I hate the Matt Ryan hype... under 30 seconds left, Redskins are deep inside the redzone with a chance to level the game, and the commentators will not shut up about eating up every last second of clock because "Matty IIICCCCEEEE earned that name. He only needs one chance to beat you".

In a game where he's thrown for barely 200 yards on 38 attempts, 1 TD and 1 INT, and who's 'iced' his way to a 3-10 record this year.

Cousins gets the TD, that absolute moron Shanahan goes for two and loses. But somehow, somewhere, some way, we'll see Ryan get his share of credit for it.

The entire planet can see the Cowboys need to run the ball and they take a low percentage shot at the endzone. Man I hate being a Cowboys fan sometimes... If you could trade championships for a long run with Jerry Jones, I guess you'd have to take it? There are certainly worse owners.

And as I type this - Romo forces a terrible pass. Idiotic.

And of course the Cowboys burn 2 timeouts trying to stop them at the endzone.

That has to be one of the most pathetic collapses in NFL history.

Or if you're a Packers fan... one of the most incredible comebacks! :p

Every week I'm stunned we still have a half-chance to win the division. Praying the Ravens can help out tomorrow night against the Lions!

I've felt this way ever since he benched McNabb with 1:58 left in a game

Tony Romo is my hero. Now we need Flacco to be the hero tomorrow in order for the Pack to continue to have a chance. Maybe Rodgers is back next week.
