It's fitting a UCLA back makes a run and gets the assist.

    Finally?

Congrats to UCLA for finally getting one, and doing it by Beating three ACC #1 seeds in a row to do it. That is a first.

And food for thought for the seeding committee next year.

Congrats to UCLA. They really deserve this title. Although I was very impressed with FSU back line.
This final = so much physicality, so little creativity (besides the last play)

We hear all the time how much better technically the Europe players are, how come it didn't show in this game?

UNC and Stanford were favored at the start of this year, and ND a couple years ago.

They are technical with the ball, which this game was a spot in the distance for them.

A number 2 from the west coast beats the last two champions along with the three #1 seats from the ACC to win the championship.....

    Not to shabby...

    Great job UCLA.

There was plenty of creativity in this match on UCLA's part but because of the persistent fouling, they couldn't maintain it for long stretches.

Do I really need to state the obvious caveats?

Not any more obvious than saying the finalists are favored.

It's so stupid say these teams will be favorites next year and our lock to meet again. Next year will be a new year and team's have injuries and different chemistries.

There have been nine different National Champions now in the history of the Women's College Cup.
Only one of those nine universities are from the ACC.

ACC = overrated? (at winning the big ones)

    Certainly a valid argument.

So making the final automatically makes you the favorite to return the next season? Why wasn't Penn State favored to make this year's final?

UCLA and FSU will be favored to make the final again because they return everyone, and will likely add more good players.

one of my points was that some great women athletes with good skill prevailed with a woman coach. that, imho, is nice to see.

From the Sweet 16 on, UCLA beat Stanford, UNC, Virginia, and Florida State.
That is probably the most impressive four game winning streak in the history of the College Cup.

    Cromwell = next Thorns coach?

That is the worst design ever. Who thought of such a thing? Terrible for anyone - but for women to have to wear that style is just beyond absurd.

Congrats to UCLA, very deserving champions. It would have been highway robbery if FSU walked away the winners today. All the Final Four teams are to be commended. A great weekend of soccer - winners all.
