Actually when you look at the statistics, we got drawn into the toughest group. To get a proper number about how unlucky the draw is, you need to look at the average number a team is in the group. By this, Group B pulled an average group rank of 3.75, while Group G is 2.5. Overall world rank for Group B is 21, group G is 11.25.

We're playing in the heat. Vs Ghana in Natal, then Portugal in Manaus 6 days later, followed by Germany in Recife in 4 days, while Germany gets an extra day's rest.

Maybe having our home base in Sao Paolo isn't a good idea. Maybe we should find a location up north.

What we can hope is that we're not the team that wilts worst.

RIP USA... I think everyone sees them finishing last, perhaps even with 0 points...

LMAO at Klinsmann saying US aren't underdogs...

I do feel that Klinsmann is seriously reconsidering that.

It is probably as simple as sepp hates robin Williams and fears an independent us soccer federation. We are the only country powerful enough to threaten FIFA. Need to keep us down. I'm sure sunil strikes fear in his heart.

Character through adversity. Walking through this fire will melt us into a single unit of menace and spite. Jk will throw jogi's espresso on the ground and slap him with his own open knuckle soft lamb leather driving gloves.

As to clint Dempsey he used to score goals on the swamp rats back home their not much bigger than 2meters.

I am oddly relieved in that there is nothing to lose and we are playing with house money. It is also guaranteed to be interesting and full of story lines. Lets do this.

there is one great leveler: Brazil. We can catch Portugal out gcam man marks cronaldo out of the match and JJ in his only good match in his usmnt career scores one assist 2 and delivers a chilling hand gesture that leaves german midfieled confused and perplexed.

Indeed, great story lines in each US match.

MUST win the opener vs Ghana. For the 3 points and for pride.

Then a draw with Portugal is certainly possible. 4 points heading into the Germany 3d match.

Have to hope Germany wins its first two matches and has 6 points and advancement is assured. Getting Germany 3d is probably the better order, all things considered.

Ah, the drama of Klinsi vs Germany.

There's no way we actually trott Brad Evans out there vs. Christiano....that would get very ugly very fast

Cameron or Chandler at least gives that matchup a fighters chance

I think we are in good shape to advance. We are just as good as Portugal and Ghana, in fact Nate Silver (who in spite his poor hygiene actually is pretty spot on with his prognostications) gives the USA a 39% chance to advance and Portugal 40%. I think Ghana was 23%. I'll take the 1% difference and bank on Germany feeling too comfortable.

Should be a good group to watch where anything could happen.

Klinsmann's no fool. He knew this was likely. I think we can beat Ghana; and draw Germany and Portugal But the line is razor thin between that and getting blown out

This draw does impact personnel. We have seen the last of brad Evans Beasley is probably next

No matter what you think of Jones, he is on the roster for one game only IMHO

Dempsey better get in form and fast or he's not starting

We do get to see just how much we've improved since 2006. We got a pretty analogous draw.
