Strange that for several hours no tickets at all but at the same time there is a virtual queue...

Yeah, it's weird. Has anyone who's logged out been able to get back in? I can't seems to get back to the ticket lists now. The refresh isn't working. And, I've left one browser waiting in line for more than 90 minutes.

I'm hoping he meant August 2010, like the rest of us.

They are all for the group stage round. I applied with a different account this time.

    Hi guys,

I just wanted to share my story.

I got 0 tickets in the first lottery; applied for TST-6 Costa Rica; 1 application with 4 people.

But I got 7 tickets total today in the FCFS. So, I'm very very happy! :D

    I got the following today:
    - Belo VST (4 group games + 1 Round of 16) = 5 games.
    - Brasilia Round of 16 Match 53 and QF Match 60 = 2 games.
    - All Cat 1 tickets. 4 tickets per game. Belo Round of 16 Game will feature Brazil if they top their group. :)

Me and 3 other friends had multiple tabs open on multiple computers. We went to the page at 2.50 am PST, and got into the virtual queue at 2.55 am. My roommate got into the queue earlier than the other 3, but I was the one who go through to the ticketing website first (I got into the queue second, some 40 seconds after my roommate). 3 out of 4 tabs went past the queue for me and I was in within 15-20 mins. My roommate who was ahead of me in the queue got into the website after me, so FIFA definitely messed up there, it was not really a FCFS queue.

But anyway, I got these 7 games after repeated attempts. My 3 other friends eventually got into the ticketing website but we were not able to get any more tickets with any of the other accounts. Some of them had to refresh their browser even though they were already in the queue to get in.

I used VISA. Sometimes the payment page gave a Server Unavailable error. I had a Rio QF game on my cart for which I badly wanted to go to, but instead of refreshing at the Server Unavailable page, I hit back and I was back to square one; I thought it was the logical thing to do, to hit back and not refresh when there is a transaction going on, but I was wrong. I actually refreshed the Server Unavailable payment page the next tie it came and got through for my Belo VST. So, if you hit back when you reached the payment server unavailable page, you have made a mistake.

The availability for the games kept on fluctuating between yellow, red and black. We 4 kept on trying for a hour and a half and ended up with 7 games. I was the lucky one, I got all the 7 games, my other friends had no luck even though they were using the same technique.

I have too many tickets now. I am hoping I can sell off the Belo VST group games individually. Let's see. Time to book flights and accommodation. Brazil, here I come! :)

No, I tried about 15 minutes ago, refresh does not blast you through the queue. It's rush hour on the US east coast although it is a banking holiday. I am waiting for the super siren, not that there is anything left to buy.

depends what you mean by "planning to go"

if you mean "planning to go", i've been planning to go to a world cup ever since i followed football, which is over 15 years mid-90's. if you mean "planning" as in drawing travel itineraries, learning portuguese, doing research (total costs, which cities to visit, what to do, what to eat). in that case, then mid-august 2013, the first day air ticket costs for Brasil 2014 were available on orbitz . i'm pretty sure i've done more "planning" in the past 3 months than most of the people have in the forum for the past 3 years . i couldn't even locate Sao Paulo/Rio on a map prior to my research

Good ol FIFA letting people in 10 minutes before the open, meanwhile I waited like a gentleman until 1 minute after...

I was just on the site and could add Greece or Ukraine TST-3s to my basket (didn't want to buy them though). There were also TSTs for most of the African playoff teams and some of the European playoff teams. So if getting tickets in this round is do or die for you, there are still a couple of (not so good) options.

Question for those who've been before: What are the chances of picking up a semi final ticket outside the ground on the day for a reasonable price? Cheers...

Any wisdom you to share from your research?

lol @ 'the system operated without any problems'. I opened a window and waited in the 'waiting room', then reading on here people talking about refreshing the page i opened a different browser and hit refresh about 10 times and got right in. I was on the site for a couple of hours looking at what was available before finally buying when things seemed to be drying up. Meanwhile my original window was still waiting, never got in.

Lovely that FIFA isn't going to be processing any applications until January, and that we can't begin to apply until December 8th. Great way to waste a month.

Well, it did work like gangbusters for them, when you think about it:sneaky:
they sold all the tickets they wanted to, I don't think they actually care about who bought it

Is it possible to sell tickets to someone else? I know that in the guidelines it says that you cannot, but I can still go into my account and update my information. Can I not just update it with my friend's information?

    Exactly,
and had us scrambling. I bought packs I don't really need based on the "just in case" factor.

this is exactly what fifa wanted, they got to sell nearly all the tickets to places like cuiaba and manaus by instilling fear that those were all that was left.

I am just amazed that curitiba was never available and really outside of random people on twitter, haven't seen anyone claim to get tickets there!

Probably because Brazilians bought almost every ticket there. I don't think any host city sold so much tickets to locals, which is kind of a shame, since it's a very good option for Argentinians and Uruguayans.

im just kicking myself for trying to go there. I assumed being a smaller city it would be easier to get tickets to, now it looks like the hardest! I booked a non-refundable hotel and can either eat the 1k or try my luck without tickets... if i would have known it was going to be so hard I would have done the 2nd half of my trip in manaus or cuiaba
