Belgian media reporting that Hazard to be one of those losing his place over the St. James park debacle.

could also just be that he needs a rest. to be honest, he'd been on great run right up until that game. he also started that game very well and was kicked all over the park in the first half. not sure you can put much of the blame on him. but when you've got willian chomping at the bit for a start and playing well in his cameo's you have the luxury to make some changes and not have a huge drop off in quality. so he may lose his place in the next game, but that hardly means he's being punished. then again, Jose said he was dissapointed in the entire team. wouldn't read too much into it. Willian deserves a start and Hazard could perhaps use a rest anyway.

whilst Torres's form has been decent, i don't think we lose a lot with Eto'o up front right now.

I would actually like to see a lot of players who were part of squad against Arsenal in the League Cup in this one. Willian, Azpilicueta, and Mikel in particular. No Bison, please.

We need to win this and have the weight lifted off knowing we are pretty much secured. Wouldn't mind seeing Ba out there but doubt it'll happen. Any chance Kevin will make the squad?

It's quite simple then, right? If you're the objective Jose, you put the best 11 of the last 3 matches on the field.

    Cech.
Defense: Terry, Azpi (excellent against Arese), Cole (Bery injured anyway) and Ivan/Cahill?
Not much to argue about here I think unless you want to make a fuss about Luiz.

    DM: Ramires, Mikel/Lamps (who else?).
I'm in favor of Mikel for two distinct reasons. Lamps has been overplayed, and Mikel is ********ing better than Essien even if Essien were available.

    AM: Willian. Shurrle. Who else...?
Mata and Oscar and Hazard have been.... uninspiring? Lately? Oscar shined in the beginning of the season. Hazard had his bright moments too. Mata has been playing excellent lately until Newcastle.

FW: Ba or Eto. Personally i dont care other than I want Ba to have a chance. Unless Jose see's a clear difference in training, it's a toss up. I feel Ba deserves to have a say in how much he's worth.

well Luiz and Cahill have both left something to be desired recently. Azpi on the right and Ivan in the middle with Terry?

Cahill is sure to start. Didn't he accompany Jose yesterday?

Isn't that like saying that Hitler, outside of WWII and the holocaust, was a nice guy?

Jesus... I've just realised it IS possible to Godwin a purely soccer thread  :D

Nah, Gaz has been pretty good and doesn't make the same sorts of mistakes that sideshow makes. Having said that he's not as good going forward and can't step forward into midfield which might be useful in some games.

Difficult call but, for me, I'd say Gaz if we think we're going to come under any real pressure.

Aside from not being to hold a line to save his life and a lack of pace, Gaz is "fine".

Don't think we will go wrong tonight with:

    Cech,

    Bane, Cahill, JT, Dave
    Mikel, Ramires
    Willian, Oscar, Schurrle
    Ba.

I think this will be the team as JT seem to be a main stay at the moment, Bane is our definite for RB, Cahill didn't play at the weekend and then the rest bar Ramires haven't been involved as much as some of the others, I think Jose will make these changes just to show that he means it that no one is safe.
