good to see you back. tickets go on sell Nov 11 and we already have plans for some great tailgates and other evnets during the week!
Thanks. It's good to see DC United back after not going this year. Hopefully the Coffee Pot Cup can be reclaimed from their supporters. They've had it for a decade now.
(Now former) Battery midfielder Nicki Paterson becomes NASL Ottawa Fury's first player. Sad to see him go http://www.chssoccer.net/nicki-paterson-orlando-moving-on-up/
Didn't see your post till after I had already started a new thread.....oh well, moderators can do their combine thingy if they want..........(I still think he deserves his own thread)
I guess Jose Cuevas is now a former Battery Player as well......http://www.chssoccer.net/battery-moving-on-without-cuevas/ good article with a run down of who is still on contract, who looks to be getting a look at by MLS in Jan and a few other bits and pieces....
I hope so too but.....MLS has had 2 years to look at him and he's had several trials but no takers so for whatever reason, no go. I predict maybe an NASL contract....otherwise, maybe he'll be back with us.
Quinton Griffith has been invited to the first ever MLS Caribbean Combine. Good luck to Quinton. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...countries-first-ever-caribbean-player-combine
I know it's the off season but man it's quiet in Batteryland. We usually have at least 1 or 2 signing announcements by this time of the year to tide us over.....anybody hearing any rumors?
Not really. I know most the front office returned from the holidays yesterday and had been out for a couple weeks. The player trials are in a week or so. I imagine we will start seeing some info flowing in the next week or two. That said, we've been working on Regiment stuff with the FO. As you might know we are moving the supporter section to E01 and they are moving the beer garden to the East side so hopefully the supporters we will be a lot more consolidated. We also should have a design for Carolina Challenge Cup t shirts 9including long sleeve and hope to start a pre sale in the next couple weeks. Also we the Regiment and local American Outlaws are teaming up and we are going an AO night the first match so far we have AO members representing Columbia Savahana, Myrtle Beach, Greenville, Augusta, Wilminton, Charlotte, DC and Richmond coming in. should be a great tailgate an hope the supporters section is rocking that night.
So does that mean that my procrastination of buying CCC tickets in E09 next to y'all has worked out for the best (procrastination almost always works out for the best)? That's the same side, but closer to the front gate, right?
That's right. Mikey -- that sounds cool about all the AO members coming out. I just checked the calendar and didn't realize how close the CCC was. Can't wait. I'll hopefully be able to make it down for at least one of the weekend games.
yep its right it is the first section as you come in the gate on the same side. they are going to build up the beer garden in that corner as well
that is going to be part of it. not sure if I will be done by the CCC but there is talk of putting and actual deck in the corner
Note to Fatbastard........make sure Mrs. Fatbastard packs that little shot cup thingy she wears around her neck. I remember buying her birthday shots one year, was that during CCC or a real USOC match? In any event, doesn't matter, the Regiment can designate 1 day during the CCC as her birthday......
Back before MLS accelerated its season a week or three, her birthday would fall during the CCC - it's 3/5 - she loved it when her birthday fell on a gameday, but she celebrates for the entire week regardless. She still talks about how nice y'all were buying her shots that day
well the first player trial came and went. I was unable to make it out this year but Dan Conover with CHSsoccer and Ross Alhmer covered it. Ross has some good photos and Dan did his normal outstanding job writing it up. Dan also spoke with Auggie about building a team in 2014 and possible affiliation with Vancouver http://www.chssoccer.net/battery-wrap-up-two-day-open-trial-other-news/
looks like another Cuban is currently training with the Battery. former Cuban National team keeper Andy Ramos Gomez has been staying with current number one Odisel Cooper http://www.chssoccer.net/coopers-friend-cuban-replacement-trains-wbattery/
couple updates. three year Battery defender Mark Wiltse retires good interview with him at CHSsoccer.net http://www.chssoccer.net/wiltse-retires-the-interview/ Also a recap of some of the off season whelling and dealing of USLPRO in general. http://www.chssoccer.net/usl-pro-2014-things-get-better/
The Three Lions will be open this Thursday February 6th, with the start of the Battery's over 35 and 45 leagues Winter/Spring season. Bar and kitchen is open for business.
