I'm so psyched that I DVR'd this match. Watched on UniMas, recorded the Chicago feed. Gonna be great to re-watch.
Correct. They move into 3rd with a win, and would be passed by the winner of SEA/LAG. If no winner in that game, then they both go to Carson for the 4/5 game.
For any of my fellow RBNY supporters watching the game on MSG still, and to others who aren't able to, Tim Cahill is pure class being interviewed by Tina Cervasio. The man takes this league so seriously, I can't imagine just how important he's become to this organization.
I used to get pissed off when people would badmouth and make fun of MLS, but, really, I don't care an ounce anymore because what I witnessed today, with all of the excitement, I didn't miss out. They did. So, go ahead, say what you will about MLS because all you're doing is denying yourself of something special. Something that, when given a real chance, can delight the hell out of you. Days like today are why I love this league, and I always will.
Oscar Pareja going for it despite knowing the Rapids will probably have a mid-week game. Full starting XI minus Sanchez and Powers who our nursing injuries (shoulder and concussion respectively). Tired players at home mid-week with a chance of a bye is apparently more valuable than rested players on the road. Can't say I disagree, though not sure if I agree either, tough choice.
May I be among those heartily withholding my congratulations from the Red Bulls. Today you have angered the Magee, no doubt beginning a new curse which will be far more prolonged and disheartening than you have known before.
I say go all out, win the game, and if you still have the play-in game, at least you'll have momentum.
So, who's going to take Mehdi off of San Jose's hands so they to can be enriched by the Blessing of Ballouchy, or has its power worn off now that Mehdi won the Shield last year with SJ?
Can you guys do me a favor and tie tonight? I like y'all too much to wish a loss on you, but I need Vancouver to pick up a point so we can get the second and fifth picks in the draft this year.
I would imagine it has a lot to do with who is #4 in the West, which could be any of 3 teams right now. Probably restrictions on facilities, or a certain broadcast partner may have first choice in picking a matchup (and corresponding timeslot).
Altitude is gonna Altitude, they've shunted the Rapids off to their alternate channel (Altitude 2) due to the Avalanche game, but they apparently failed to hook up the HD feed to the HD version of the alternate channel.
Sorry if this has been answered here or elsewhere, but let's say Portland and SKC make the final. Would Portland host the Cup as Western Conference champs, or would SKC as 2nd place in the Shield standings?
I hate that channel. I hate their hockey announcers. I hate their football announcers. They are terrible. People complain about Balboa, but he is Ian Darke compared to the rest of those assclowns.
Balboa promoting Porter and Pareja for Coach of the Year, saying what Petke did was great but he was given the "keys to a Ferrari". Um, Balboa is aware that historically, whatever Ferrari was in NY usually got run off the road by the end of the season, right? (That said, it should come down to Porter or Pareja IMO)
MLS Cup host all comes down to SS standings. So : 1. RBNY 2. SKC 3. Portland 4. RSL 5-8. depend upon what happens this evening. 9. Houston (cannot host) 10. Montreal (cannot host)
