Commentator News - Week #9 - Tim Howard - Arlo White To Call Chelsea-Manchester City. Stamford, Conn. - October 21, 2013 - US Men’s National Team and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard will join Arlo White on the call of the Chelsea-Manchester City match Sunday at 12:00 pm ET on NBCSN. Howard will be in the booth one day after suiting up for Everton in their Saturday match at Aston Villa (10:00 am ET on Premier League Extra Time and NBC Sports Live Extra). “It is the first time we will have an active player in our announce booth,” said NBC Sports Group coordinating producer Pierre Moossa. “He has recently played against both Chelsea and Manchester City and will provide the viewer with a very unique perspective on not only the game but what it is like to face these current squads on the pitch.” “It’s a real coup for NBC Sports to secure Tim’s services for this huge game,” added Arlo White. “Not only is he one of the best U.S. players of his generation, he has been mixing it with the best players on the Premier League for over a decade. His insights will be fascinating.” LB: This will be the second match of the weekend for Arlo White as he joins Lee Dixon on the call of the Southampton-Fulham match which takes place on Saturday at 12:30 pm ET on NBCSN. http://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2...anchester-city-sunday-at-12-noon-et-on-nbcsn/
Interesting about Timmie, but not sure it'll be enough to get me to watch that one live. Maybe I'll catch him on MOTD. Anyway, what this says to me is that he's testing the waters for his "retirement". Not sure if he should let Klinsman know about this... might make him use Guzan in Rio.
Hey LaxBandit, do you (or anyone else) know how far in advance NBC announces which games will be on which channels, especially the Extra channels? I just checked http://www.nbcsports.com/gamefinder and didn't see any info for this weekend which is now <5 days away.
I don't why people just don't go to http://soccertvblog.com/calendar to get this information which is always there!! For the official NBC page for the Premiership go to http://www.nbcsports.com/live-extra-schedule SA www.soccertvblog.com
Nice try, but NBC has been way ahead of FOX/ESPN on this front - for obvious reasons, they don't need to "draft" games with another network. Hence http://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2...-first-three-months-of-premier-league-season/
I'll be catching it LIVE - well at least the first half. Unfortunately because the match kickoffs at 12:00 pm ET and not the usual 11:00 am ET - the match now runs into the 1:00 pm ET NFL games and by local law, I must see my Buffalo Bills get crushed by the New Orleans Saints LIVE. So I'll be recording the second half of the match and then watching it once the Bills-Saints game ends. Then when that ends, its off to watch my New York Red Bulls win the Supporters Shield at 5:00 pm ET. So thats my sports viewing for this Sunday afternoon.
Thanks for that, I've bookmarked it. It certainly shows the upcoming weekend's matches, but not beyond that. But it's better than their www.nbcsports.com/gameday link which doesn't even show this weekends matches yet! Is there any up-to-date NBC webpage which goes out further than the upcoming weekend? And is there any way to know which Extra channel each match is on? For me I'm still having problems on my main TV with Extra channels #2-5. I can pull in their lead Extra channel #1 but not the others. Wow I never saw that before. Thanks. Now what would be nice if is there was an updated version of that schedule which showed rearranged fixtures, e.g. this Saturday 10am has two less matches than they list: @spurs, @Swans.
That sounds great. The only flaw is that priorities are reversed, you should be taping the start of your Bills game and watching the end of Arsenal. I was toying with going to that NYRB match as well, but it'll probably sell out like the last one did. I keep pinching myself that the 3 footy teams I support & follow are all top of their table (AFC, NYRB, USMNT). Not sure that will ever happen again.
NorthBank - there was this press release that was posted at the start of the season - http://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2...for-first-3-weeks-of-premier-league-coverage/ However they haven't done another one of those since and instead have been listing what matches are on what channels for the upcoming week via a press release - example - http://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2...anchester-city-sunday-at-12-noon-et-on-nbcsn/ - and the LIVE Extra link that socceraction posted - at start of the week - just five days in advance. The reason for this is that for Weeks #2-#4 of the season NBC pulled what we are now calling a "Newcastle United" - they removed their match from NBCSN and put it on ExtraTime because they wanted to show a better profile match on the more viewed channel. The second week it was replaced by a Sunderlund match featuring Jozy Altidore and the third or fourth week it was because they wanted to show Cardiff City who had upset Manchester City the previous week. Guess NBC was tired of posting schedule changes in their press releases or having angry Newcastle United supporters complaining about their matches being moved so they decided to be safe and list what matches are shown on what channels - just five days in advance. So until NBC goes back to listing the matches three weeks or so in advance - you will have to check either the NBC Sports Group Press Box website for a press release or that LIVE Extra Link at the start of the week (Monday) to see what matches are on what channels for the upcoming week. Or you can wait until yours truly links the press release here or socceraction posts that info on his website
According to the online page to buy NYRB tickets, the midfield seats are sold out and the only available tickets are behind a goal. @NorthBank
