Unfortunately. At least the ACB attempts to come up with original singing and chanting and puts them on trial runs.
And so does the Cauldron. They trot a new song/chant out every couple of games. But over 90 minutes, you mostly go with what works.
They do. They do Barbecue every game now. I don't know what you're expecting. You're not getting a new libretto every week, or even every season. The chants that engage the rest of the season, and get the energy going, are going to get used.
I expect something new, not just "I Believe." I talked to people at Utopia College Sports about that and "We Love You" and "I Believe" are the two most annoying chants, according to a number of users there.
And I say ******** them. It's not a popularity contest. It's an effort to engage the entire ********ing stadium. When the Riot Squad gets a chant outside the corner of the SHC, you get back to me. Yeah, the most effective chants are the most annoying. But they ********ing work. That's the point. You want variety, go buy a ticket to a concert.
This is turning into a worst case scenario for KC's Supporters Shield hopes. They are expending a huge amount of energy. I think they were hoping to come out and get a quick goal or two, then conserve energy and play the counter. Instead, they've run for 65 minutes and they're still not out of the woods.
