I know there's still a lot of work to do in order for us to have a good performance in Brasil but I'm gonna celebrate our 3rd World Cup appearance! Ecuador al mundial 2014

Ecuador deserved much more.... I could only imagine if we had a coach like Sampoli. Fidel should have started the second half. We need major improvement up front and in Guagua's spot.

I'm hoping Uruguay losses both games to Jordan. I'm still bitter for that game they stole from us.

Lol yeah. BeIn messed up Fidel's name haha. I'm very happy he got to play. He played well and almost scored in such a short time. If Montero doesn't play well (like sometimes he does), then Martinez should come in much sooner.

We need to improve on scoring! Also Chile had 60%+ ball possession. That's crazy. They ain't Spain. We could have passed and held the ball better. I think this falls on Rueda. He needs to coach better. We have way too good midfield players to let a team dominate us like that in ball possession.

we played well for a bit , our defense was bad tho . From paredes to ayovi . Im really dissapointed in Erazo today . Guagua cant freaking jump and erazo gets out jumped .... but a small freaking frontline of chilenos. NOBOA is a MONSTER. Montero has had 2bad games but i think maybe his ankle injury might have played a part, he looked slow and not too mobile.

So happy we made it and im happy that the majority of us stuck with the team threw thick and thin. From now on, keep negativeity out of your thoughts , from now till 2014 all positive vibes ok guys lol . Oh and Enner issssss preety damn good and interesting .

I told you guys we'd make it!! I had a feeling we'd lose by 1 goal when Chile came in and scored 2 out of no where. Ecuador lost concentration in that time frame between the 2 goals they got scored on. But if you ask me who was more dangerous in the first half, it was Ecuador. Think the only thing that keeps haunting us is the lack of another forward to link up with Caicedo. Enner Valencia had one hell of a game, and just like some of you I am beginning to see what Rueda sees in him. I think he plans to develop Ener into something similar to what we had with Chucho. What sucks is that Enner plays more for and with Antonio and Jeff and doesn't seem to come into much contact with Felipe. I think that's where the issue lies up front. Whoever plays with Felipe has to play for and with Felipe. Enner is talented and has the ability to create danger on his own but he has to remember that Felipe is there too and work with him to tear up the middle section of the field.

Overall, i think everyone had a good game, besides Erazo. Again we deserved better luck and were 1 goal away (like usual) from getting a positive result in an away game but we just need that extra piece of the puzzle. But WE QUALIFIED!! and that's what matters. Guagua impressed me this game as well as the last few games of the Qualifiers. I'm definitely not a Guagua fan, but he's done his job the last few games and shut me up. I even feel like I would love to criticize him but there's just no way to do it when he played a great game LOL. Montero wasn't at his best but im pretty sure he's tired and his injury did had some sort of impact on his performances. He should be back to normal in another week or two.

But I think the biggest ups should go to Antonio. He's carried our team in the last few games of this qualifier. Ever since the game in Colombia to me he has been a stand out (the mvp) EVERY GAME we played. I don't think any player wanted it more than him and that's probably why he's the captain of the team now. That goal we scored today was pure huevos. He was a monster when he broke through the middle in that play. Good for Antonio! I hope he can continue playing like this even in his club so he can come prepared 100% for the WC. I don't know what's up with these rumors that he's leaving the Manchester United, but if he does end up leaving hopefully he goes somewhere he can play.

The last player I wanted to comment on was Walter Ayovi. He played good but sometimes left some gaps that allowed Chile to cause danger. He's slowed down a bit and as I predicted even a year or two ago- I said we need to start thinking in who replaces him or is his back up. Bagui is ok but he's not as good and also he's 30 years old if im not mistaken. I'm pretty sure Corozo will be his successor and hopefully Corozo gets a few caps to his back between now and the WC. I think it's time for the transition to begin. It will take it's time (i assume) but slowly Corozo will have to break into this starting 11 before the next Qualifier and finish up consolidating himself in the Qualifier.

Same goes for Castillo and Noboa. We need to find out who's next. Carlos Gruezo and hopefully Gaibor break into this NT at some point after the WC. I think Castillo and Noboa will be perfectly fine for the WC, but after that we need the new guys to come in. But the transition should begin now. Besides that our defenders how to recover from their injuries and bad moments in their clubs. Paredes seemed solid in the last 2 qualifier games. Erazo did good in Quito but bad today. Ayovi's performances have been between good and acceptable, but not great. Besides all these things the most immediate thing we need to do is continue finding the perfect fit to pair up with Felipe. Enner seems like he needs to work more on pairing up with Caicedo and not do it all himself. Fidel, Sornoza, Marlon should also be interesting options. But the key guy is somewhere in there.

I'm sorry but Guagua was the reason we got scored on the first time. If you look at the replay you will see Guagua right in front of Sanchez but he never paid attention to him. Erazo had to recover for him but it was too late. I think once Campos comes back we will look a whole lot better. Montero deserves to get benched or at least subbed out earlier if he's gonna begin to hog the ball like that. We have Martinez waiting for his chance and Montero is wasting chances where he should one time it on the volley or pass the ball. Other than that I liked what I saw.

With all due respect I disagree, if you look closely to that goal, Chile passed the ball 20 times before the high cross came, thats just unacceptable, I have to be hard on Paredez, Mena ate him alive today.

Yes. indeed. Vamos al Mundial! I'm so proud of this National Team. One of the best in our futbol history.
Especially proud of Antonio Valencia who showed up when we needed him the most. In my book one of the best ball players in South America and the World. See you in Brazil 2014!

This classification to the World Cup in Brazil 2014 is dedicated to Chucho 11 who will be with us always...

Hey guys! It's been years! Such a long time, but glad to see the forums are still active. Ecuador made it to Brazil. Congrats to our guys... Rueda needs to go after this world cup I'm sorry to say.

We need a good argentine coach who isn't afraid to play away and has judgment on point! Look at the first three teams to classify... all argentine coaches!

Fidel should have started waaaaay earlier in the game.

Valencia... what a beast as always... ran 3/4 of the pitch, the pass... and Caicedo with pin point precision!

I can see why you see it that way, but Alexis was Erazo's man. Guagua was where he was supposed to be and Erazo was marking Alexis. The center was impossible for Guagua to stop unless he was as tall or taller than Dominguez. Erazo on the other hand was coming from behind and knew where Alexis was and where he was going. He was personally covering him and simply got beat on the header. The two things that disappointed me about that play are that 1 Alexis beat Erazo on the jump and 2 Erazo actually let Alexis get in front of him when that was HIS man. And if im not mistaken Erazo got beat on the second goal too. By who? Alexis again. In the air again. Don't know how that could happen twice in 3 minutes, but that was a lack of concentration on Erazo's part. I'd be first here to bash Guagua but i don't think either goal was his fault. between Alexis vs. Erazo, Alexis won and that's happened yesterday in both goals.

that goal we scored yesterday was a complete visual explanation of why we need someone to break through the middle. If word's can't explain what im saying, just watch Antonio's play. I felt like that goal was played in fast forward when i watched it. Whoever plays with Caicedo has to be doing something like that. Not necessarily at that pace b/c those opportunities don't occur often but Enner or whoever plays with Caicedo has to break in through the middle with this type of attitude. Antonio's a f*ckin beast. These type of plays make Caicedo's job ten times easier and finally make him useful- (he can score).
