NBC pre-game coverage?

    Hi from Hong Kong,

I was curious about NBC's coverage of the EPL this year. Does it start *exactly* at game time, or do they show the bit with the team in the tunnel, coming out and doing the handshakes, etc?

Reason I ask is that my son will be the mascot for an upcoming game and I'm hoping my family in the US can see him on TV before the match starts. He's pretty excited (and, who are we kidding, so am I).

Cool. Will have to find someone who can record / digitize that bit when they are in the tunnel through the handshakes. I'll be on the field taking pictures but would like to see the official coverage too.

Hey nice to see you Idi, you're a blast from the past... same old avatar and all.

NBC generally shows them coming out of the tunnel then lining up. But then they pretty quickly tend to go to commercial break and return seconds before KO.

That's awesome that your son gets to do this! Does he live in London not Hong Kong?

Yea, we all live in Hong Kong now. We'll fly over for the game and spend the holidays in the UK. We'll probably stick around for the Cardiff game as well on January 1st.

Sounds glorious. London for the holidays. Two Arse matches. Your son a mascot. Hard to top.

BTW, the advice above was related to how they've generally done it on the main channels like NBCSN (maybe CNBC or NBC if it happens to be there).

If however the game ended up on one of the new "NBC Extra" spillover channels, then it could be very different because I think those broadcasts don't have any of the extra studio production like the main channels... they just use the international feed, like FSP & Setanta used to do.

Since Arsenal's generally been on the main channels so far this season, I don't know that I've watched a match on the Extra channels yet, so I can't really say for sure how the pre-game coverage goes on those.
