I believe we are onto something as well with this team. A bit early but injuries are our biggest obstacles but COYG!!!

Great performance, sort of fortunate result, oddly. Altidore's goal never should have been ruled out, but I'm glad it was.

One thing that I absolutely loved, that hasn't really been addressed yet: In about the 80th minute, we were defending a free kick or something, and the camera zoomed in on Flamini. He looked so fired up, and was getting everyone else around him in the same mindset. He's a ****ing pit bull, and I think he's going to do amazing things for the team's attitude.

Also, we're currently top of the table. :)

Ozil and Ramsey were brilliant. As was Giroud. Love how Mesut can make those passes from tight spaces that opens up their defense. It's exactly what we need. Chelsea a minute away from losing..

Even if you add in Jozy's goal, we still win 3-2. And don't get me wrong, the fightback in Sunderland was fun to watch and all, but if Walcott finishes a couple of the chances that he got in that first half when Sunderland didn't do ANYTHING, the game is 3-0 and over at halftime. Not fortunate, imo. Deserved victory over a team that we should beat every time.

Nah. Everyone rotates (throw Arteta and Ox in that mix as well). I don't think there's a clear-cut person that sits. I doubt we'll have all of those players fit at any given time, anyway.

Ok, I agree with everyone on this. But altidore and sagna were standing there hugging each other for a good five seconds. How long does a ref just sit there and wait for something to happen? Wait for them to go into the penalty box?

I'm not sure you can complain too much about advantage when it took so long to develop.

Not denying Wilshere might be the weakest on current form but what does a Striker have to do with Wilshere playing?

thing is, this was Wilshere's best match in ages. He was really good today, but Ramsey outshined him.

We are also going to have to stop saying, "current form" with Ramsey. Its been most of 2013, maybe this is the player he is supposed to be.

Cazorla has an ambiguous "ankle problem." Hopefully it's just a sprain and a month off it is all he needs.

No word on Giroud yet -- hope he's okay.

Totally agree. Thought Wilshere was excellent today, and showed flashes of his best form. Ramsey is well ahead of him, but I think they'll both be great players long term.

Tangentially, I think for all the talk of Wenger's supposed lack of tactical acumen, his decision to use Wilshere as the nominal left midfielder was spot on. In fact, I'd say the way he's been using Cazorla in that position (as what amounts to a fourth center mid) has been a widely overlooked little piece of tactical ingenuity that has reaped much reward. Today, it must have been tempting to throw Ramsey out there, but his recognition of the importance of Ramsey's physical presence in the middle and of the excellence of Wilshere's combination play meant he made the right choice.

Isn't not having to play jack every match a good thing? I don't know, let's see if we can get everyone healthy first. Right now for all of our supposed mf depth, the team picks itself.

Regarding the Jozy no goal, cuz I missed the 2nd half and finally just got to see it:

Play was ruled dead a good 3-4 seconds before the ball was in the net. Atkinson started to blow it dead before Jozy got free. If you have it DVRed, you can see right at 70:00 that he's starting to go the whistle while they're still tangled up. Intent to blow the whistle, just like hockey. He can't assume he's gonna get loose, he was being held for 3 whole seconds. How long can you wait on an advantage to see if it ever happens? It's also a push by Jozy...you can't score off your own foul. So you give the 1 foul from the beginning. Not saying it was a great decision, but I think it's far from the awful one people (not here, obviously, but elsewhere) are making it out to be.

Great match, but we certainly missed the big German in defense.

Ozil, what a genius player. I don't know how he manages to find time and space to implement the perfect pass. Its also his ability to change direction at the last split second while surrounded by multiple defenders. He's win for the EPL and more importantly for us Gunners.

As for Ramsey, what can we say... He should be proud of himself for coming back after that horrid tackle by that despicable human being that calls himself a footballer to become one of the most gifted players in the EPL. Keep it up Ramsey and you'll show your country men what a real footballer looks like unlike the Monkey in spain...

    Great win.

PS: Rash challenge by Kos, but also a clear dive. Had it been a foreigner we wouldn't have heard the end of it..

Totally agree. Jack had his best game today since the season started. He was energetic and pretty inspired. Obviously Aaron ( and Mesut) stole the show though.
I am not concerned about who is going to sit. We have a lot of games to play this season, we will have injuries and rotation will be the very much the way to go. The good thing is that our midfield, while really good, can only get better in term of positioning, ball retention and creativity.

FFS, people complaining about players sitting on the bench. Honestly we have some bipolar fans. As Charile mentioned, we have plenty of games to play. In fact I still think we are one midfielder short, a quality one.
