They should have Danny Lee and Christian Miles read an obit for FSC at a 3rd grade level before switching over to Fxx. Then Oliver can explain how because FSC is almost done theyre giving a chance to "the kids" who work behind the scenes to gain some experience. The screen goes dark and then Its Always Sunny airs for the first of a billion times which FXX purchased for $1 plus transmission costs.
Yeah right! I've always assumed they wanted it to be 7 days/wk but screwed up in the planning necessary to make this happen.
Guess we need a new title to this thread....; was so happy with FSC after getting here from Aberdeen, Scotland, in 2004....; missed it especially today during transfer day.
Well they still have Fox Soccer Plus & Fox Sports 1/2, so I'm sure there is still plenty of criticism coming their way in the future, and this thread is as good a place as any?
Anyone watching Milan-Celtic on the regional sports network/fox alternate? They are having major audio problems. The American Pre-game/halftime/post game voiceover guy has had to narrate some of the match. Then they brought in the British commentary. Then some how Italian commentary went over the airwaves. Crazy stuff.
On TWC in NY, there seems to be an issue with FoxSoccer Plus HD and some weird stuff on their feed. Thought it was just Munich/Citeh earlier, but it's continuing into the night for me. There are two vertical lines of dots flickering constantly. Anyone experiencing something similar?
Watching the Napoli-Arsenal replay on Fox Sports 2. They have the final score on the ticker at the bottom of the screen???!!! Just signed up for the service--is that a common occurrence or a one-time screw up?
One of the few reasons why I didn't want FOX regaining the UCL rights. I had Napoli-Arsenal on my DVR but they had to show the score in progress in that hideous blue bar while I was watching Milan-Ajax, I ended up deleting the former because I hate to be spoiled. Oh and another open statement to FOX, when I am watching footy, I do not care about other sports at that point in time, please leave the scrollbar to the irrelevant ancillary shows. The scrollbar is starting to become an advert for dodgy streaming websites in search of better spoiler-free quality.
Which of the other options (ESPN, NBC Sports) do not show scores of other games? ESPN and NBC Sports are both criticized regularly for that during Premier League coverage with Ian Darke at least providing warning last year. It is the way sports are covered in the US that they will update you about scores of other games because replays/DVR matches don't matter to them.
I'd rather not have the scrollbar, but I can live with it. However, giving the final score of a match that's being shown on the scrollbar is beyond idiotic.
With the proliferation of other avenues to obtain sports news and scores virtually on demand that came to fruition over the last several years, most notably smartphones and tablets, the on-screen scrollbar during a live match (or game) has outlived its purpose if you ask me. Hence my previous comment that it should only be on during the other irrelevant/talking head shows.
I'm not arguing with you on the stupidity of scroll bars. Just stating the facts that this stuff isn't going away as the networks think this is what people want.
Agree with both of you. Scrollbars are indeed stupid. If I'm looking for another score (in the same sport or another sport) I'll look it up another way. The biggest impact that scrollbars have on my life is that they end up being spoilers. And for re-airings of matches, FOX has had problems going back years, where the scrollbar revealed the result of the very match you're trying to watch as live. Stupid. However I can see how it's not so economically feasible for them to filter their scrollbars to avoid this. But that said, you can actually train yourself to ignore the scrollbar (I have). It's those pop-ups in the top-left or top-right that show scores of other matches... those I find much harder to ignore.
