Is it just me? Or should Mexican refs not be able to give out yellow cards like candy the match before Mexico

I think he knows what he's not, and he genuinely panicked with Bradley suddenly missing.

Lol, talk about "bravado and whistling," I'm not about to toss away two+ months of positive building by this team with one piss poor away match in WCQ'ing at CR. We still have great depth and a number of unfortunate things happened to throw us off kilter for this match at the last second.

Having said that, it was a terrible night by pretty much the whole team and we will need to be infinitely better if we want all 3 points against Mexico.

No, he isn't, but once we had the chance to go into the half and clarify roles, we looked good. And our "world class" keeper let us down.

We played a terrible 1st half, and a really good 2nd. You can't get away with that against good teams on the road.

Chiquidracula was great tonight. Jozy drew an utterly stupid card and I have no idea what Besler did, but the ref called a very, very good game.

Also, for all of you ready to crucify Dempsey and Donovan, keep in mind that CD scored and hit a post, and the two of them combined for all our good opportunities in the 2nd half when we actually had a functioning midfield. Kind of hard for the attacking players to make an impact when the midfield is terrible.

Yuck. Nothing positive I can get from that one.

But an ugly loss in Costa Rica is par for the course. Let's see what this team is made of vs Mexico. Beat Mexico and the US clinches, I believe. Mexico will be like a cornered dog, though.

So, are Cameron, Besler, and Altidore all out of the Mexico match? And Bradley might still be hurt?

No lack of drama coming up.

Jozy misses the Mexico game. I think you have to drop Jozy for the Jamaica match, as well, as punishment for his petulance.

I wonder how many excuses we are going to hear tonight about Howard, the Field, the Fans, the Ref, the opposing players?

I saw no reason why wouldn't have won this game it was there for the taking, the way I see it Klinsy called up the wrong players completely, word of advice to the Coach if you are going to call up players make sure you call the kind of players that play hard to the very end and leave it all on the field.:devilish::mad:

Panicked? Nope, this is how Jones plays EVERY SINGLE ********ING MATCH. It's just that he usually has Bradley there holding his hand and cleaning up all the crap he spews all over the pitch. Jones is overrated and does his job very poorly.

That's the dumbest ********ing thing I've ever heard, especially if we need the points to qualify.

Our midfield "looked better" in the 2nd half because Costa Rica wasn't pressuring them as much. They just sat back and waited for the counter attack. As soon as they began applying pressure, the US midfield began coming apart like they did in the 1st half. Didn't anyone else notice that?!

Cant win them all and we thoroughly got our ass whooped. Oh well, we probably get to see Brooks get cap tied against Mexico.

OG too slow of thought I think.

Howard was very poor, I hope Guzan wins the job before Brazil.

Besler finally made a mistake and got caught ball watching, a top goal keeper should have bailed him out there.

I think MB makes everybody on the pitch better and we have to get past that because he can't play every game for us. He will always be important but we shouldn't completely unravel without him on the pitch.

Their GK played way better than ours, but we were mostly outplayed and outcoached, lost our composure and it ended up a fair result.

We've always looked like crap in Costa Rica. There are lots of potential reasons for that, but reading a lot into this game is much the same as reading a lot into the B-team Gold Cup. You'd have thought that some people had never seen a qualifier in San Jose before. ;)

This is complete BS. JK called up the right players. The starting line-up was fine. He got handcuffed with injuries.

This. I saw Dempsey and Donovan and Fabian fighting out there and making good plays, regardless of people's opinions. They fought. I thought he went to EJ 5-10 minutes too soon, and his decision to go with Orozco was a killer.

Ref called a good game, EXCEPT, cards. He was very liberal in giving out cards which really hurts us against Mexico. Anyway, we should get UEFA Refs to insure impartiality

Wow. That sucked. Dempsey was horrid, Besler was abused. Everyone's screaming about Jones, but he may have been our best player tonight. But that's not saying much... Horrid game.

Dempsey should have been pulled around the hour mark. He was really bad. Slow, horrible touch and just looked lost.
