So evidently Ander Herrera says that he never agreed to join Man U and that although he was flattered that it wasn't his interest to leave. Surely it would have been different had Fergie been there. It's crazy how much a manager affects the decision of players. I guess I was stupid to think that Wenger should go unless a guy like Klopp comes on.
The Guardian just released a photo of Rooney's head gash and anyone who questioned if his injury was legit needs to take a seat. Looks like he was attacked with a machete!
It does look pretty brutal; funny that phil jone's massive forehead sustained no damage in the exchange Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler
No. And for even bringing it up here, you're to be admired for your candor, and/or willingness to be flamed. I found him to be the most electrifying player in the premiership last season, even as he moved centrally and was learning his second new position in 4 years. Normally, my antipathy for Madrid is pretty significant, but since RM jettisoned Ozil for us, I'm even liking Madrid more than I ever have.
Certainly not rooting for him, but can't help but feel bad for him. He finally secures a move to what could have been his dream club but he's always going to have to face a ton of resentment for this
He'll be back, I predict. After all this Madrid Monkey business, they'll soon realize the real "CL Missing Link" is playing at the Emirates. Meanwhile, this Missing Link will once again be fending off banana peels as he takes a corner for Stoke City as they battle Scunthorpe in the League Cup.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Bale at ManU in two years. And i wouldn't be surprised to see Fabregas there next year.
Since the last other-teams-thread was named after him, let me share with you our beloved Alex Song's latest foray in the fashion industry. The dude behind Song must be thinking " Bro, what the hell are you wearing?"
No one put a gun in his head and forced him to move; Bale forced his way out of Spurs when he could have stayed 1-2 more seasons there and developed himself more before making the move. If he failed to win the fans over he'll have no one but himself to blame.
The thing is would Spurs have improved enough to challenge? They MAY have won a cup, but not the league. And even now with their signings (none of which are world class, and we get one and he is world class haha) I won't they objectively their in a better position to do so, or more than us.
Thing is, we've heard forever how technically superior La Liga is to the EPL. So I guess Bale will be a bit of a barometer for that. He epitomizes the kick, run, shoot nature of British football (to high level, of course), but he's a very British player. I just think it will be fun to see how his game handles La Liga - and vice versa.
I didn't see it, to be brutally honest. I had to work that morning, was not able to avoid the result, and haven't had the stomach to go back and watch it. it sounds as though we were essentially able to create nothing - 0 goals from open play in 270 minutes is a concern, to say the least - despite having loads of possession in midfield, which is too reminiscent of last year for comfort. i'm disappointed, as well, that we apparently weren't able to shut you down through the center anything how we did against palace and (prior to the goal, anyway) Swansea. we pressed and closed down space so effectively in those ones that I didn't envision your lot getting as many clear chances as you (apparently) did. now, I know what you're thinking - 'that was palace and swansea'. and ok, fair point regarding palace; but Swansea play some very decent stuff through midfield, and they didn't get a sniff. capoue and paulinho couldn't have been as effective at yours, or things would've played out differently. by all accounts I've heard (including 'delusional' spurs fans), it was a fair result, and I really can't see myself ever getting around to watching it. as to the 'gelling' bit, it doesn't diminish the quality of your result in the slightest to say that I do believe the timing of the fixture worked to your favor - or at least could have. we've got a question or two to answer yet in our midfield, and if we get them sorted, stopping us further down the line will be significantly more difficult than what you, Swansea, and palace have had to cope with. but that's the price you pay when you replace half your first team in one window, and it's certainly nothing to you lot. then again, if we don't satisfactorily answer those questions, the timing won't have meant much, afterall.
Maybe 20 years ago, but IMO the gap has closed a lot. In a way he reminds me of Ronadlo. both are pacey, can shoot, can cross, so he may score and do well.
probably not a good timeframe example. spanish teams were pretty poor in european competition more or less from the early 60's right through to the late 90's, with some exceptions.
