Lahm is just a liability in midfield, Mandzu is playing the role of the invisible man, Ribery's award has gone to his head, and Müller is scuttling around like an arachnid on speed. The only positives out there are Robben, Kroos and Boateng.
Ribery way to selfish so far. Kroos has been excellent. I'd like to see Mueller out wide, Robben as false 9 and Goetze in midfield for the second half.
Team looks completely demotivated and undisciplined. Sell Gustavo -> Scwein, Martinez, Thiago pick up injuries -> Play Lahm/Kroos/Kirchoff alone as DM in front of our wide open, extremely high line Fullbacks are isolated because of how vulnerable we are to counters - they are encouraged to play as wing backs and then get burned on the turn every time. Team starts to look for outlets when the possession style doesn't help, and it's inevitably Ribery. It looks a bit one trick. So essentially we are witnessing 1) a deficiency of defensive cover in the midfield/on the counter 2) an over-dependence on Franck!! Does anyone else not see the irony that these are the exact issues we struggled to reverse during LvG and early Heynckes era?? The real issue is that Pep's decisions do not seem to gel with the strengths of the team at the moment, and it shows in that the players do not look energized by his tactics, and at least from my perspective there seems to be a somewhat skeptical air to their play and demeanor. I'm even thinking about some of the interviews players gave. I understand the need for Pep to create flexibility and fluidity in the squad so as to have some sort of tactical diversity, but in the same vein, if it's not broken, don't fix it.
I just took off my Martinez shirt and put on my Lucky Bayern Shirt ... Guess which player ... Hint: there are two "3's" on it ... Something tell me we'll turn things around ...
There are times when we've moved quite well but the thing is we're also to pass the ball into the net. So when their defense gets disorganized, we give them to shape back up. And when we do try to make the final pass, it's off the mark. And when we do try to shoot, our finishing has been horrible as usual. And honestly, I would think of taking Rafinha off for Gotze and moving Lahm to RB. Because they're leading, Chelsea's going to be waiting for the counter anyway and they won't be building play through the middle, so I'd rather put Lahm back where he is most effective. As for Rafinha, consider that when Chelsea scored, Robben was the deepest on the right side of the pitch. Inexcusable. I do not know whether it's lack or effort, concentration, or positioning, but your RB trailing your RW on defense shouldn't be happening. I can't see how Pep can be happy with the performance so far. Chelsea's defense has been stellar as expected. I think Schurrle has been their most effective attacker.
Forum Announcement As a result of the numerous personnel and tactical changes I have decided to retire one of our favorite pics: You will be missed.
I was thinking of this too. Sometimes it's just better to make the tactical foul and get your yellow card instead of standing off too much. Contento did the same against Freiburg last game. Just stop the play instead of risking a 3 on 3 with our defense disorganized
The lack of defensive cover from Lahm has forced Kroos to stay really deep, which is hurting our creativity in the middle because Mueller is playing like a SS. Lahm has been playing way higher up the pitch than Schweini does. Its throwing off the balance. Goetze needs to come into midfield and Mueller needs to either go up top or to the wing because Mandzukic is just horrible today.
You should not use drugs before watching next time like your avatar, it doesn't help when it sounds like you are talking out of your ass.
It's f#cking basic. I was screaming foul when that Chelsea attack started. Things would have been much different
Well the early goal is the last god damn thing we needed.. A loss here will hurt us more then it will chelsea. This could be a long season Watch us lose the club World Cup aswell
