Tickets went on sale this morning on Ticketmaster. Has anyone had any luck scoring tickets behind the Portugal bench? It looks like they're all sold out already.
Cheapest ticket is $50 face value. Add ticketmaster fees and it turns into a $70 ticket. Luckily I got my tix two weeks ago in the presale and avoided any ticketmaster fees. Paid $125 to sit 10 rows from field
Guys, can you PLEASE sing and chant for Portugal. It's sad watching Portugal fans just sit there all game and only cheer for goals then sit back down. Especially since there will prob be more or at least 50/50 in support vs Brazil where there fans will play music and sing all game.
For sure, that's one of the reasons I wanted to get seats behind the Portugal bench. I ended up getting club seats in Section CL34. I'll probably be there early pregaming so if anyone wants to meet up for a beer let me know.
Yeah, I'm 6 rows up right behind the Portugal bench. I'll be yelling and chanting my heart out. It won't be 50/50 though....Brazilians will dominate the crowd 70/30.
When the Pats host games the opponents usually stay in Providence at the Westin so that would be my guess
Front row in the midfield is $800...they must think it's a WC final. Anything less than $200 will get you behind the goal in the nose bleed section. Completely overpriced and a rip off but honestly there is no way in hell I will miss seeing the Selecção vs. Brazil 20 minutes from me. May never have that chance again.
I met JJ, Rui Costa and the entire Benfica team at the Westin hotel in Providence, RI when they played at Gilette. I live in Providence and work downtown and walked over to the Hotel. Got autographs from all of them. I'm assuming Portugal/Brazil will be staying there as well.
What website are you looking at? I got right behind the Portugal bench near midfield for 150. Front row in the middle is 300.
You're either checking the after market websites that are selling them at 2X the price, or looking at the wrong sections on ticketmaster. http://www.ticketmaster.com/brazil-...atid=11&tm_link=search_msg-0_01004AE2826F433F It's $165 ($150 + $15 tax) for the lower bowel near midfield. Only row 1 is bumped up in price ($300).
It looks like the Westin in Providence was sold to Omni, can someone confirm? http://www.omnihotels.com/AboutOmniHotels/Press/PressReleases/130115APressRelease.aspx
After watching Brazil play today, I certainly DO NOT "fear" them. They don't have much fluidity or pace. Boring team. Yeah cuz Portugal has such an amazing team.
My buddy and I managed to nab 5 behind Portugal bench. I would've preferred midfield for viewing purposes but can't complain!
Heading down with a few guys from Toronto area. Can any locals recommend a place to stay? Was contemplating staying in Foxboro, but from what I hear, there's not a whole lot to do there outside of the game. And staying in Boston makes getting to the game tougher. Suggestions?
SouLeao - I'm not from the area, I'm from California. But, I've been doing a lot of research for months and have my trip all lined up. Myself and a group of 8 of us are going out to the game and got great tickets in Section 109. We're staying in Back Bay area (very well known, but expensive). The "T" (train/subway) hasn't confirmed if they're doing a special train into Gillette Stadium for this game yet or not. If not, it's essentially a pain to round trip it. Even if they do the train, tickets can only be purchased in-person. So, I booked a charter for $40/person on a large bus with bathroom, and they bring ice chests for tailgating, etc. Believe they usually charge $50/person, but since we had 8 people, they discounted our group a little. The vendor is http://bostoncommoncoach.com/schedules.php This is worth it for us vs. renting a suburban, paying $40 or $50 parking, plus another $50 for parking at hotel. Plus convenience of drinking with no driving/parking/directions, etc. etc. Hope this helps! John
