As a past moderator in this forum all I can contribute is this bit of advice - if you have the time to dedicate to a forum, do it. Being a moderator is a great gig but you need to have time to make things clean and respectable for all users. One also must put any club bias to the side. Without these traits one is bound to fail. Just some food for thought...
Thanks for the kind words vilafria. I do miss the good old days of this forum. It's a bit of work to ensure that things are organized, and there was quite a bit of policing to do at that time as well - both club and country related. The reason I left was because of the lack of time that I had to dedicate to this place. I was always of the mentality that I would stick around so long as I had the time to devote to it. Once I couldn't commit to it, it was time to go. I didn't want to just have the title. I think a mod needs to be a constant prescence in the forum's community and sometimes new blood is good, to reinvigorate the forum with fresh new ideas. Just my $0.02...
The Forum is dead. I used to be the Porto forum Mod. I quit because there was 2 posters and nothing to moderate. Now, there is zero activity.
The Sporting mod, Natenate is very active. Can't say anything similar about the others. Maybe it's time to realign the forum under one mod as it was when I first joined in.
