That might've worked out OK if Pareja were still on the coaching staff.

I've been waiting for some good news to finally post something, anything, again but it doesn't seem like that news will come anytime soon. This streak is so much more deflating than last year and I didn't think last year could get much worse. Ugh, this team.

There is no such thing as a logical reason to sub on Watson.

Appropriate to have Cowboys move to Frisco. Both owners and coaches live in denile.

Was going to have a nice, quiet (yeah right) night in watching FCD but decided to go drinking instead. Looks like I made the right choice.

This team needs a new coaching staff, a true coach with a vision for the team. He needs to set aside: Fernandez, John, Hedges, (maybe) Loyd, Diaz, and Perez. Then blow the rest of the team up. Start over. I'll take a few "rebuilding" seasons if it feels like we're actually building something. Right now we're in the same rut with no end in sight. SH gets a Championship caliber team and what does he do the very next season? Blows it up. If that isn't proof enough that he's not a big league coach, the subbing of Watson on when we need a goal (game after f ucking game) is.

    I'm done.

Curious who you would sub in instead of Watson ? Does SH consider him the "best" (?) of the available subs ? Does he even have competent attacking players to sub in ?

Down 2 to 1 - you take off Jackson for a sub-par dmid? A defensive mid for an offensive player when you are down a goal? Is Schellas trying to preserve the 2-1 loss - or prevent a 3-1 loss.

I don't get it. SH sub patterns have been his most curious thing these last 5 years - often mystifying. And it has not gotten better. Each year it stays weird.

I like Michel as a midfielder more than a left back. We need more offense. We already have a bad left back - just play Benitez but at least get some more, better offense.

Is the season over? Maybe not - but it sure feels like it. I have 0% confidence we can win one game much less win enough games to get a playoff spot.

Hyndman has to go - does he not? I feel like we have some decent talent - but its 11 guys playing Ring Around the Rosie. They don't mesh enough - I don't see enough team play.

And to be honest I don't think pro players respect Hyndman as a soccer coach. He is Belichekian / Parcellian in his ways - but with 0% credibility.

I agree with everything you said, except I'd definitely keep the homegrowns (Acosta, Baladez, Garcia, Sanchez, Top, and Woodberry) too. As they don't count to the cap, you may as well give them a chance to develop under someone who knows how to develop young raw talent before giving up on them entirely.

I really wish I could go back in good conscience. But rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs of MLS just gets old.

I agree but with more change. I say eliminate the Central America mindset altogether. I get rid of the Rat too. Blas' work rate is phenomenal, he does score goals but his attitude and antics poison the well.
This was the first time I'd seen Nunez back. He's turned into Smurfette!
Did Acosta just become available two weeks ago? Why in the h3ll hasn't he been in at dmid or something? Anywhere?

    Maybe Brian Schottenheimer is available.

We got a goal and I read that Castillo made an "incisive" pass to set it up? Well that's a ray of sunshine in our dark world.

Pretty garbage performance for a professional team to continue to put together. No matter who plays, the group looks disconnected and rarely go forward/defend as a group. It's nothing new that there is no leadership inside the group, and I think we all agree the coaching staff doesn't give you the impression they know what to do. Diaz looks like he has a bit of something, but he isn't going to fit into the SH mold of a player I can already see it.
I think it's time Jackson and Castillo both sit, I really can't stand watching either of them play superhero anymore, it's awful.

I getting close to the point of not watching any more games while the current leadership carries on, which is pretty sad.

With the lack of coaching, cohesion, and leadership you point out, what's left for them to try besides playing superhero?

I get where you're coming from, and Jackson in particular has almost made some things happen. I wish Castillo would just a make a final decision (ANY decision) three strides earlier. It's those last few steps trying to get around his man that leave him penned in by the end line; surely he remembers when Dan Kennedy guessed at his plan 30 yards out and just plucked the ball off Fabian's foot at the end line. Or hell, as long as Michel is on the field, Castillo's job shouldn't even be to score, just to win corners; he should be able to do that even playing the way his brain makes him play.

I'm right there with ya. I bet we could put together a FCD non-watching party and get at least a dozen. Maybe watch a hoops match from 2010 or Pre HSG days!

Well to me, that's going to be part of the problem. If you(and by you I mean Jackson or Castillo) think one player can win a game by themselves, that reinforces the issues inside the squad I am referring to. Point being, when individuals resort to playing by themselves, the team structure suffers, and it become 10v11 or 9v11 in this case. So to answer your question, what's left is standing up, being a leader and trying to work with your teammates and playing like a team. Doing your own thing as an individual only leads to wider gaps in cohesion, tactics and overall play.

No and are the other homegrowns that much worse than Acosta or are there others that he won't play? At the end of the Stoke City game FCD was playing their most cohesive soccer of the season. Not saying to put them all out there but tired of the no one else is available to help. Of course now most have been loaned out so that is true now. Next coach has to be better at who to sign to HG, how to improve them and willing to play them FCD will never have the $ to compete with LA and NY but they have one of the best hotbeds of talent in the nation and need to start taking advantage of it.

Of the multitudes of youth players growing up in the metroplex "hotbeds of talent", which of them have succeeded in MLS playing for SH for more than a season or two (2) ?

Not sure I understand the question. Isn't that the problem with him being that he doesn't use them? Basically none for him unless you count Hernandez who was no longer young. Plenty all over the league and in other leagues.
