nope. ajax did just lose their captain with a collapsed lung, but psv have some real good young guys. i think it'll be ajax/psv in the cl. az would be incredibly fortunate to make it to the europa. another question: who'll score more goals between now and the end of the mls season, clint or aron?
i'd say aron again, and if not more than jozy i think he'll certainly have a better per game average than jozy.
Aron is playing in the Eredivisie, Jozy is in the Premier League. It would be silly to choose Jozy to answer that question.
jozy has two cups while aron has one (i think) and 2 less league games. the eredivisie does have playoffs for euro spots tho, which is cool.
But those players pay maybe $40-50k a year to attend the school and play. You would think one or two might pan out with *some* kind of pro or at least noteworthy college career.
For most of the guys at IMG's academy, it's a prep school with a high-level soccer program. Parents send their kids their to get trained up in hopes of college money. Frankly, I'm far more interested in knowing what Aron was doing there in the first place than who his classmates were. Anybody know?
I have no idea. But I can make an educated guess. This may be a stretch here so bare with me. I have a couple of ideas. His parents studied at the University of South Alabama in Mobile and worked in the area for a couple of years. Possibilities exist they worked in oceanology or the oil industry which are both prevalent in the Gulf and have a foreign influence. That could have brought them back to the Tampa/St. Pete area. Or they could have been college professors with a slew of colleges in both the Mobile and Tampa/St. Pete area.

Uh, he wanted to AVOID partying all the time, in order to live with 4 other guys, study, and play soccer? O...K...
I know! I chuckled at that quote. He would not have lasted a week as my college roommate. I lived with three of my teammates for nearly three years. Our place was known as the "soccer house". That says it all. Aron would have HATED us just like our coach did. That's probably why I wore a warm-up top for most of my college career!
Seems to have worked out quite nicely. Now he likely has a slew of ladies to choose from. "I'll take you, you, you......and definitely not you..."
AJ steals a spot from a "real" American and now you steals my boy DMB's number. How dare him! All's forgotten if he scores in his debut, though!
Kinda shocked no one has posted this but Aron can play tomorrow!!! "Aron Johannsson has been cleared by #FIFA to appear for the #USMNT. He's eligible to play tomorrow! #USAvBIH " https://twitter.com/ussoccer/status/367376121223847937
So does this mean his papers went through and hes going to play or is he just posing with a momentary souvenir? Edit: and theres my answer now above. Magic
Little known fact: Bacon and Benny once played together at Aarhus (if only for 3 minutes). Benny left the team in April 2011, but they did overlap for a few months. http://int.soccerway.com/matches/2010/09/26/denmark/1st-division/agf-aarhus/hb-koge/951548/
