Slightly off topic but great DP signing by Colorado, he's the type of guy I hope Red Bull is looking for to get a 3rd DP.

Are they an AFC or UEFA club?

AFC. Generally placed in West Asia in the ACL group stage but due to a strange decision played the last two years in the East. They survived the group stage both times. Talk about travel. I did the math and they travelled 86,310 km (53,629 miles) in 2012. This year they went out relatively early against rising Thai giant Buriram United (they too got a brand-new stadium) but I wouldn't be surprised to see them win it all in the near future.

God damn and MLS teams complain about their travel! That would be the equivalent of NY playing all 17 away games on the west coast.

Have you seen the Russian 2nd Division...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Russian_National_Football_League

Baltika vs. Luch Energia would be one hell of a match.

Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar vs. Luch Energia would be the best match ever.

They will soon. Uzbekistan is rising. Last Asian Cup they lost 6-0 to Australia in the semi-final. I would not be surprised if today they would only lose 2-0 or 3-1 to Australia.

They were unfortunate in the World Cup qualifiers after losing 1-0 to Iran in there first match and then drawing Lebanon in their 2nd match. Every other game after that was good but it was those two matches that messed them up.

I saw that Iran game. Iran looked terrible all game and scored in the 93 minute. Change that result to a draw and Uzbekistan is in the World Cup. Now they have beat Jordan and then a CONMEBOL team...unlikely.

I have not posted in a long time, but this one is another one of so many of your classic posts. Allergic to South American and Central American players?????

Kaka's brother from Brazil (Brazil is in South America), Juninho from Brazil, Espindola from Argentina (Argentina is also in South America), Olave from Colombia (Colombia is also in South America), Michael Bustamente born in Colombia, plus we signed a couple of hispanic players from NJ (Santiago Castano and Omar Moreno). Plus if you add Ruben Bover, he is Spanish. The players we dropped or Traded were the Eastern Europeans on mass (Lindpere, Tainio, etc..) and we kept Roy Miller from Costa Rica who you wanted desperately to cut (Costa Rica is in Central America). Luis Robles also? From New Mexico and certainly of hispanic origen. This adds up to 9 players and over 25% of their total roster.

Sure mid-season, we cut Kaka's brother, but I am sure you won't argue with that call and Juninho decided on his own to leave which again probably is good for the team.

There are teams with with a higher percentage of South and Central American players, the team has made a more dramatic move and is now more diversified in terms of players from different regions of the world. Africa, Australia, Asia, South America, Central America, Europe and the U.S..

All of these complaints of yours when the Red Bulls are right at the top in the hunt for the supporters shield. You still complain as to not being sufficiently hispanic which I think is racist by the way, but they the club has definitely gotten younger (now average age 26.7 which includes Hartman at 39 years old who is really more of a coach) which was one of your other biggest complaints and no recognition of that not the effort to make a true run at the U.S. Open cup which failed but you can't argue that they gave it a full effort. They also seem to have a real emerging star in Obekop just 18 and sorry to say from Cameroon which is in Africa which I am sure upsets you.

Metz expects the team to kowtow, so when it happens, it is not something to be thankful for, only an opportunity to harp on something else.

I don't know about you, but for me from your list to the only one I can call a player is Olave, the rest of you list are plain and simple a joke.... they are not players....they consistency, hold a second, what the hell I'm talking about, they have not consistency........ Not even the DP have consistency.....

Roy Miller has positioned himself as one of the top LB's in all of MLS, Espindola has been solid and is tied for the team lead in goals, Olave has been superb, Bover is a youngster with potential so your argument doesn't hold water. Our management is EU pedigreed so that is where they know more players and coaches. Your comments are simply idiotic. We aren't going to get top S. American players at this stage of MLS so you have to settle for the marginal players. If they are really that good they are heading to Europe or playing for a big club in S. America or Mexico and not coming to MLS. MLS is viewed down upon by many in S. America so until that view is changed don't expect a huge influx of highly talented players coming here. Even the guys that have come so far I wouldn't exactly call them stars in S. America, and like I said if they were really rated that high they wouldn't be coming here in the first place.

Man, you have to watch very close Miller, he is a indecisive player and never ever know what will be his next move, so, playing like that he always, I say always, that he don't know what the freaking to do with the ball and looking for the easy way out he give to the next player behind him, obstructing the play, because all the other player are running to positioned they self ahead to receive a pass and he with his undecided way, stop the attack, and that isn't time by time, this all the time he get the ball and that my friend isn't a way that a good player play.....

metz, we all know who Miller is and what he brings (or doesn't bring) to the table. Why don't you respond to the other issues in his post?

I think Petke has Miller playing much better from a defensive standpoint than Backe did and I feel pretty comfortable right now with Miller at LB. I know he is not perfect and may never ever score a goal but pretty good at attacking and crossing the ball and much better in defenive third than ever before for us. Petke and Frazier have done a good job "coaching him up" if that is the word or phrase.

That s exactly why we are a mediocre team into the MLS standard that is much to say, and will be still going that way if they don't change they mind and player, if Miller and Holgerslush look better isn't because they are playing better, is because OLAVE are cover they asses but at the same time they are limiting the capability of Olave that instead of play his game have to cover the poor limitation of this craps.........

Stop, just stop. Miller is playing better this is not an area for interpretation, it is a fact. Now Hulk maybe you can make that point but I think he is playing better one on one than he did last year whenever he has been isolated.

Think you are a little too tough on our boys. We are like 1st or 2nd in all of MLS i believe.
