http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/socce...s_cahill_CKSaFlq8hjAuwXlpug8YfO#axzz2bEBXDu2L According to this we are looking to sign 2 more non-DP players before the window closes on Thursday. Again, I would rather those spots be used for actual players other than Grella.
http://diez.hn/Inicio/Ediciones/201...pez-traspasado-al-Houston-Dynamo#.UgGFro3e5AM Houston Dynamo sign young Honduran International, Alex Lopez, from Olimpia.
That's pretty good Houston signed a guy that young. I assume there was a transfer fee? BTW, when does the transfer window close--any idea what time on the 8th?
I would suspect you would understand that an MLS article from the NY Post with Cahill in the url would indicate that I meant Red Bulls.
ya but jay heaps has already stated he will stand pat in this transfer window and with a move like Cisse, they clearly have enough money to go and get a good player.
That makes sense. Now the story is hitting (MLS site on him signing as a young DP, but without mention of the transfer fee).
I like that Dom goes after the best "Dynamo" guys regardless of their position. But man, how many midfielders can one team have in this salary cap league? It was already their deepest position, Davis, Boniek, Driver, Sanchez, Rico, Moffat, Creavalle, Dixon and Ownby. They already shifted Gilles Barnes to forward to get him in the line up with decent results. But unless they expect to cut loose several of these guys in the offseason, I wonder why we went after this guy. A big time goal scorer would have been my pick.
Hey, JasonMa and Totoro, you may be able to come off the ledge. San Francisco FC's official (well I'd assume official but you never know with central and south american teams) twitter says Torres has been sold to the Rapids.
It's done..OFFICIAL... the team that owns his pass, Panama's San Francisco FC, just put it on their twitter and website... here you go http://www.sanfranciscofc.com/noticiacompleta.php?id=1021 finalmente,, buena suerte Gabi!

We're quite comfy on the ledge given how often we're on it! You adapt...and there's a nice view. Given how long everything takes with the Rapids--transfers, contracts, visas, ITCs--I don't think it will be official until Torres plays in a game for the Rapids, the game ends without a lightning delay or snowmageddon or something, and the other team does not file a protest on the basis of the Rapids using an ineligible player.
Tim Hinchey is tweeting that its not done yet. Torres is expected to fly in to Colorado tonight for final negotiations before the close of the transfer window tomorrow. It also appears to be a loan to buy instead of the original rumored signing.
A good article on all the tripwires that still have to be dealt with before its official. It also has to be signed with ITC in hand before the close of the window tomorrow. http://blogs.denverpost.com/rapids/...-bravo-gabriel-torres-arrival-colorado/25293/
Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) 8/8/13, 12:04 PM Breaking: New England Revolution to acquire Charlie Davies: bit.ly/1794cPw
Really? Seems odd given who they already have up front, all of whom I rate higher than the 2013 Charlie Davies (including Chad Barrett).
More importantly... Expect modest compensation to exchange hands between New England and D.C. United in deal to bring Davies to New England. #MLS— Kyle McCarthy (@kylejmccarthy) August 8, 2013
Well it may be a test drive for next year. Sene reportedly has interest from French league and Agudelo is gone next year. 3rd round supplemental pick or some such junk probably.
"Next year", unfortunately, is a synonym for the sort of low expectations that are endemic to the entire Revs organization. 3 pts. out of a playoff spot in the East and they show little commitment to the here and now. Charlie Davies does not equal urgency.
Ives Galarcep @SoccerByIves 2m The New York Red Bulls have signed 29-year-old Australian left back/left winger David Carney.
Sounds like TFC have failed in their pursuit of Maxi Moralez. They reportedly came to terms with the club but couldn't convince the player to come over.
Torres is in Colorado and finalizing negotiations with the Rapids. Clocks ticking but this might get done. Supposedly the Rapids have people in Panama to get the paperwork (like the ITC) through before the deadline once negotiations are finalized.
