"(not FCD because he would never play for SH)"

Looks like an entire team doesn't want to play for SH right now.

I don't think that's it but contrast how Klinsmann is running the national team. Donovan takes a hiatus and it takes months to earn his way back to the A team and he still may not have. Bocanegra is waiting on the sidelines because of his club situation. Altidore gets a few games off because of a tweet and lack of hustle. At FCD mostly the same guys play every game no matter how they play and the results. So instead of busting your butt every day in practice to pass someone on the depth chart or keep your spot no one tries.

If you're a young player you get 10 minutes here and there twice a year unless every veteran is hurt. If you are a veteran and on the bus then there is no chance you will not be starting or one of the subs for every game unless you break some rule and are in the doghouse. Is that what happened to Michel? His form may have dropped some but with a to week rest there is no way unless he was hopping on one leg he would be worse than Watson. His free kicks were missed.

I don't understand why Hyndman doesn't pull Castillo as soon as he goes left to shoot near goal instead of making an easy pass to Diaz. Every time he does it. Almost every player out there has bad habits that are never corrected and never will because the coach won't replace them or encourage competition for all.

A new coach would instantly make practices harder for everyone and let all know there job is now on the line. Time for a change.

I really think this is the best example of how shallow the roster is and how poorly it was constructed. Hyndman would probably love to turn to other players, but he really has little to turn to... The players that are falling out of form have no real back up... Ferreira? Who do you replace him with, Nunez? Really? Who replaces Castillo, Jackson, Cooper? There isn't anyone on the roster.

I know everyone wants to see a HG play, but the reality is that those players are NOT ready for MLS starts. They're just not. Acosta may be on the verge of it, but Hyndman isn't the type of guy who's going to take that risk... He just doesn't see it the same way the fans do.

Your argument is hollow as long as Watson plays (and he likes these type of guys as there is one every year). You yourself admitted he gave the ball away in dangerous places three times in the first five minutes. No one else on the team would do that including the HG's. He also has more options than you let on that we have seen. Woodberry and Acosta could play several spots. Maybe Loyd could then move to Dmid where he has to be better than Watson. John might also be able to move to Dmid as good as Keel and Zimmerman have played. Garcia is also ready but he can't play him because of some quirk but if he could would he? The team also could have drafted Dillon Powers instead of a volunteer church builder. SH said they were willing to take a chance on him because he was the only player left that he liked. Seems like typical SH judgement of players that aren't defenders as there are a lot of good rookies this year. I guess we view things differently. I feel many other coaches in the league could do more with these players. With the HG's in general as North Texas is second only to Southern Cal. I feel he gets out coached just in tactics every game. Oh well he's here until he steps down.

That's a lot of ifs and maybes. I'm not defending SH. I'm pointing out they've done such a shitty job roster building that when he claims "changes" are coming, he doesn't really have anything of value to change to.

It might be fun to see the HG's play, but they aren't going to win Dallas games, especially if you put more than one of them out there at a time. If you think I'm wrong, you're underselling the quality of MLS play and FCD's opponents.

oh, and Loyd would be a disaster at Dmid… he can barely deal with pressure at right back as it is these days.

I honestly think the reason Watson started is because Michel is hurt/worn out. I don't think SH is dumb enough to play Watson over a healthy Michel. I really don't.

    I disagree with you.

BTW this SAME set of players used to win games, used to come from behind and tie games at the last minute. Used to play for each other. Now they can't score a goal. What happened?

SH doesn't understand the meaning of a compact team or lines moving in unison.

Everything seems scrambly, helter-skelter, rushed--and this is with ball-handlers like Ferreira, Nunez and now Diaz onboard, and guys like Perez who can hold the ball up.

Every time Castillo or Jackson gets it, it's A Night at the Improv, ditto with Cooper unless he's in the box. All that energy that's expended needs to be put into a high pressure game like SKC. Otherwise, it's disorganized and reminds one of an on-the-deck version of John Spencer's Portland Timbers.

Listening to Kasey Keller tell the viewer what was going to happen and watching it unfold made me wonder how good of a coach would he be. He certainly has the pedigree and must have picked up tips from many coaches in Germany, Spain and England. Hitman says SH has no options other play who he's playing but if I owned the team I would quietly ask several respected wonks what they would do with who's here right now.

this thread has wandered around alot....

but it seems just a good a place as any to note that, it came out yesterday that MLS paid Dempsey's transfer fee. all of it. all 8 million of it.

so everyone still giving money to the hunts helped fund Dempsey to Seattle.

On a more serious note do you blame him for not wanting to play for Schellas? A few years ago the FO was a mess but the players and coaches were decent. Now it's kind of the other way around although hard to say what a lot of these players would do with a different coach. Of course another coach might jettison them quickly. The FO is now decent and making strides. They are now handicapped by personal connections between the owners and the head coach. They have a tough call and we will see if they make it or stay the with ship that is listing starboard with icebergs all around.
