yes, will you be a fan when you realize that no real money will be spent into the club? Cosmos wont do well for a few seasons, will it hurt your insides?

The only reason im going back and forth with you is because you automatically started to talk trash vs Jacksonville, there is no rivalry between us and there is no reason to hate, i was happy you guys finally created a team but then there is fans like you, you will never see players like Pele and Beckenbaur at your club again, you will be a feeder club and most of your fans will realize this soon enough. Your not top dogs anymore and you wont ever be(within the next 30 years at the least). You will have a good fan base for a couple years but it will soon dwindle, I sense jealousy that your club isn't the newest to the new NASL anymore and soon after there will be 2000 people max at your games in the biggest city in the US. Sucks to suck. How will the being the 3rd club in new york feel in a couple months?

Oh sonny. I respect your attempt to trash-talk. Admirable, really. Now on to disemboweling you.

You don't know how much money we spent.

It was my way of welcoming you to the league. See, this is what the Jersey boys in MLS didn't get: New York has no rivals. Everyone hates us. And we are ok with that. Honestly, I can't figure out why that is.

New York fans don't care about feeding any other teams, we just care about winning trophies.

I think its cute you dont consider NYRB as a NYC club, but you consider Cosmos NYC while most of the cosmos game have been in NYJ.

Its still the same area, and yes it is a NY club, if you cant take an hour travel for your club your slacking.

You wont ever spend the money you spent during the first run of NASL. Im sorry but you wont ever see world class players for the Cosmos again and I bet it hurts inside, sooner you realise the sooner you can neck yourself.

No one hate NY, we just hate the fact you think your entitled to so much especially new yorkers who wont support NYRB causing the need for a NYC2 that will fail after a few years.

It doesnt matter if you dont care, NYC3 will be a feeder team and its kinda cute when you got all your plastic fans much like the owners of NYC2 did, with $.

Apparently fans campaigning for a team since 2007 are now plastic fans.

We reject RBNY because a team named after an energy drink, where the ownership shoves its advertising down our throats more and more with every move, does not represent New York. For the Red Bull supporters that stayed and like the ownership apparently a shiny stadium and decent players (which represent just a rounding error on their balance sheet), are enough to make up for that. And we're the plastic fans?

The same apples to Man Cit y Jr.

The Cosmos do represent New York, they've shown that with everything they have done, from their wanting to build a stadium in the city proper to their fan relations. Yeah, they won't be spending MLS money, but if you're only supporting the team because of how good they are, then you're a plastic fan.

As for Jacksonville, I don't care about them.

Man, that is a shitty reason not to like the Red Bulls.

Having put in 10+ years in supporting the Metrostars only to have it wiped away to become an advertising project had left a sour taste in mine, and plenty others', mouth. The subsequent mistreatment and intransigence toward supporters by Red Bull made things even worse. I personally tried to support the team after 2006, but I eventually had enough of the bans, the wiping of history, and the ads being shoved down supporters' throats.

Henry and a building don't make up for it, because only plastic fans (since you're keen on using that phrase) would use those reasons to support a team. I mean, even the majority of the South Ward wants Red Bull out.

I'm sure if you asked a fan of any other team in the world what they would prefer, they would answer the same. Only out-of-town MLS fans want things that are good for the league even if it is bad for the local fans that actually support the team. We want a normal team to support and now we have one.

Anyways, this is NASL Rivalries, and we were talking about the Jacksonville Small-Fries Right now. You guys can enjoy your Battle of the Brands with Man City Jr on another forum.

Because they'll be a drag and laughing stock in the league, just like the Jags are in the NFL ?!

    Gee, can't wait.

No, because we'll be settling in for the long run in the league and be a perennial title contender. How much support is your team going to get once everybody realizes that MLS is never going to put 3 teams in Texas?

I've got a better reason. It's named after a soda. Now off with you, soda-man!

If that day comes, we won't have a problem.

Ironic that a JAX fan would dare mention anything about support to another team's fan. I'd say it's pretty bold but it's really just dumb. So dumb, I'll leave it alone for now.

Wise move . . . and I hate being put in a position to stick up for a team that I do not even support, but the Jags were 20th out of 32 teams in average attendance last year. Is that anything to write home about? No, but the constant attacks about lack of support are a bit of a myth, and more than that, tired. Come up with something new. Let's see how many people come out to support our soccer team before you start speculating whether or not fan support will be an issue for this team.

The issues go back over a decade with the Jags and their "support." The wisecracks were born out of truth, and the "issues" are more truth than myth. We both know it. One season of "not THAT bad" doesn't erase the better part of a decade being pretty damned bad.

... of course, I can be skeptical of support (with good reason) just as you can spout about stocking the trophy case (not so much with good reason).

Not sure how saying they'll be perennial contenders is saying they'll be stocking the trophy case, but if you look at the parity of the league in it's first few years of existence, there's no reason not to think they won't be contending quickly.

I don't want to turn this into a Jaguars debate. I'm not going to start splitting hairs and making comparisons from the San Antonio Riders (WLAF), or Texans (CFL). Sorry, that's the best I can do for you guys in American Football, because . . . you know.

I'm sure attendance won't be an issue. They'll have activities at halftime!

... Shoot. I wanted to find a gator wrestling photo for halftime and they're all in the Tampa and South Florida areas. Wrong rivalry.

I really don't get why you hipsters are so obsessed with calling it an "energy drink". Coca-cola and Pepsi give you energy too. Guess what they both have in common with Red Bull? Caffeine and carbonated water.

(Let you in on a little secret: Orangina is a soda too. It's seltzer mixed with orange juice.)

    Soda.

Hipsters? How? Your the one supporting a team before they went "mainstream".

"You're", sonny. And I supported them as a kid when they were mainstream. Again, this is for NASL fan rivalries. Stop trolling with your soda love.

Listen, I know the Cosmopolitans (The original intention of the team's name, just like the New York Metropolitans, aka the "Mets" . . . in other words, nothing to do with the stars or the Galaxy), are chomping at the bit to get a rivalry with there not being one remotely close geographically in this league. You know, the one you guys have decided to slum in until you return to Glory (Ahem, Ahem) . . . But to try to offer Twinkies to a 2015 expansion team is a bit of a stretch, no? Giorgio Chinaglia is probably rolling over in his grave thinking about trash talking to future expansion teams, not to mention this gang of misfits that you are about to take the field with.

Regardless, good luck against the Strikers. We have built in rivalries against them and the Rowdies, but I do wish you guys luck trying to manufacture your own in the meantime.
