Last time, it was about an hour before kickoff, maybe little longer. We were all stuck outside when the monsoon hit, waiting for the gates to open.

There is actually a confederate graveyard just outside of Downtown Columbus, that's the closest thing we have to a civil war battlefield.

Nothing yet beyond the email (about the delay from 7/30 and) saying that applicants would be informed by Friday, Aug 2nd.

Can the Horseshoe still fit a soccer pitch, know the Crew played their back in the day.

They removed the track and narrowed the field years ago. It can fit, but it's somewhere around the FIFA minimum width, and not really ideal.

...it would also probably not fill half the 102,000 seats in the 'shoe, which would sort of defeat the purpose of packing so many people into Crew Stadium.

    Dear U.S. Soccer supporter:
We regret to inform you that your application was not selected in the ticket lottery for the U.S. Men's National Team's 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Mexico, presented by AT&T, on Sept. 10 at Columbus Crew Stadium.

The demand for tickets for the match was unprecedented, with more than twice as many requests than could be accommodated and we thank you for your support and participation in this process.

    :(

    Well, darn.

I got my rejection email letter just now.

Anyone get extra tickets for a US fan?

I already have my hotel room booked and am going regardless.

I got two tickets, missed out on the others that my wife, friend and brothers ordered. So basically 2 out of 12 in my case.

    More from Crew.com:

The sell-out crowd will be energized by the presence of the largest organized supporters section in U.S. Soccer history. More than 9,000 members will occupy 27 sections, which is more than three times larger than any group of organized supporters for a previous match.

So almost 40% of the crowd will be in a "supporters sections"

Which sounds good in theory but how many of those people are like gvazqu1 who will be wearing green and just joined the "supporters section" to get easier access to tickets.

Getting organized chants moving is going to be a clusterfark. Might as well just get loud. AO Capos need to keep it simple.

I'm already working on some stuff. Simple, slow, stuff to get the entire stadium going.

    Amen brother.

I don't think I've seen an really organized Supporter section chant since the Sam's Army days when we were so weird, many people watched us more than they did the game.
