I voted for Crespo, even if he now is way out of form I still think he's better than the "youngsters". And if you choose to vote for "other" please say who you are thinking of. Thank you.
saviola is the best striker after one of my faviorate, batistuta. though saviola is my faviorate now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!RIVER!!!!!!!!!!
If Cavenaghi is so good then why is he going to a Russian team?....Is it that Argentina's offensive players have not fared well in their clubs in recent years?
Russians are LOADED with cash, and are putting up a pretty tough league in the last couple years. Just as in women's tennis where 12 of the top 20 are Russians ... I can see their league going up in competitive level soon. It's been only 14 years since they opened up their economy ... it is time for a giant economy like theirs to have a big local tourny for their favorite sport.
Cavenaghi is my vote with Tevez an extremly close 2nd. I wish they would play them together like in the U-20 South American Tournament. Figueroa is a great young talent and he brings new energy. Saviola is great but his form has been off even with the hat trick. I would let Tevez and Cavenaghi have a crack at it. I hope they both play in the Olimpics.
Actually I'm not from Argentina, I chose my username because I wanted to point out very clearly which team I support. And as I was reading the book "The boys from Brazil" at that time I kind of found this username funny. And maybe my name is an omen, maybe I some day will live in Argentina...
I like to think about Cavenaghi as the natural successor to Crespo. I just hope he hasn't ruined his career now with this move to Spartak Moskow!!!
I would like to see a more consistant Saviola but I don't see it right now. I would like them to give Cavenaghi a chance or even Tevez. Tevez plays with his heart and leaves everything he has to give on the field.
START TEVEZ...u idiot of a coach. Not as a striker though...attacking mid Some big team in Europe please buy him...this guy is a hidden jem.
Actually.. Cesar "Chelito" Delgado is pound for pound loads more talented than all of them, but maybe that's why he doesn't play as a striker with the national team. At both Rosario Central and Cruz Azul he played/plays as the #9 with style, ala Titi Henry at Arsenal. Maybe it's not a true 9, but it's one hell of a hybrid. I assume Bielsa is in love with him because he hasn't played that great recently, but he does show flashes of what he can do. Figueroa has received more acclaim in this Copa due to poaching goals he's put in, but that's not to discredit him. They're both good players. But if you asked me to pick a striking pair/frontline for Argentina, i'd place Crespo up top with Chelito a bit behind and to the right. I don't think El Toro is ready for the senior squad. Then again, neither are most of these "youngsters." It's just awkward to see Argentina having a strikeforce of Saviola, Tevez, Figueroa and Delgado. None seem to be true 9s, with the exception of Luciano who like I said doesn't seem to be the primary candidate at this point in time. Who knows, though. With Bielsa, many things can be rushed and their development forced. What do Argentinos think?
hmmm,d'allesandro has my middle name, that colombean guy has my last name, chacho coudet has my other middle name, but i dont know any jacobos that play futbol.
out of the two players that play at cruz azul, most argntinos like figueroa, most dont like chelito because he messes up most genious plays and throws them away like garbage.
