Tradition says Bayern will only loan to Bavarian or Schwaben clubs... Southerners.

Montoya and Adriano are quite solid for Barcelona as the backup/rotational fullbacks.

City also have Richards and Kolarov, one international player and another former young player of the year there.

Atletico's may not be quite as good, but Manquillo and Insua is a pretty good back up pair of fullbacks to have at disposal.

I knew the second I typed that I should have put a percentage. LOL.

85%-90% of loans are to non-rival, typically Bavarian clubs.... no?

Ok, fair enough ... But my point is: People are complaining that Rafinha and Contento aren't that good when in reality only 2-3 teams at most in Europe can say they have better/on par backups compared to us ...

It's not like we can ship out Rafinha and Contento and buy Alves and Cole FFS ...

What a great addition. This has been a fantastic transfer season for FCB. It is made even better when you see how butt-hurt Manure fans are over this.

Shaqiri would be better suited for a CL playing team, He was one of the stars of the CL group stages 2 seasons ago with basel and I feel he is ready for some CL action.

Leverkusen badly needs an AM to make some impact this season and would be ideal but they burnt that bridge with the Vidal deal since They didnt want to "sell to a rival" Rival indeed!!

Schalke is the next best option. Shaq last yr barely got minutes and I dont see it getting better now with Tymo out and Gotze/Thiago in.

    Dont loan him to England

I mean the fact that there is currently a huge lack of international class fullbacks in Europe doesn't really change the reality that Raf/Cont are clearly not on the same level as the rest of our squad. This is a nice dilemma to have since as you say they are equal to or better than most backups around and Lahm and Alaba usually play.

Why do you think they are not on par with the rest of the squad? Rafinha is certainly a luxury to have at RB, imo

Are we seriously at the point where we are lamenting the quality of our BACKUP FULLBACKS? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Amazing.

Who's lamenting? I don't think there are any Bayern fans complaining nowadays...

The current quality of our squad means we have the luxury of pointing out the areas where we are less covered than others. I think injury poses the most threat to our defense.

SportBild will be running a story tomorrow stating that Gustavo will be allowed to leave the club given Bayern receive a suitable offer.
