    uh oh

@1rebs - Hearing Bayern Munich could be set to hijack #mufc move for Thiago. And that he may want to link up with Guardiola

I wasn't inferring that because Thiago has returned to training that he's not coming. I just think that if he was ever going to come here, we needed to get him before he returned due to Xavi and co. convincing him to stay. When I said he was "in the bag" I meant that all signs pointed to him coming. Given our previous interest and some reputable sources saying it's done I had a good feeling about the transfer. However, it's starting to drag on and I think the deal is less and less likely.

My comments about our transfer business this summer aren't because we haven't signed anyone yet. I just have a feeling we are going to end up with the same ol SAF shtick where we sign a couple players in positions we don't need and don't address the CM.

City and Chelsea had "off" years last season and they've improved with a few new signings(and better coaches). Can't say the same about us.

We haven't exactly been splashing the cash so far - we've bought van Ginkel and Schurrle; that's hardly going to frighten anyone in the league (our returning loan players might though). Arsenal are Arsenal while Citeh have bought Fernandinho and Navas while selling Tevez.

All in all, it's been a surprisingly quiet summer at the top. Which means the craziness will start once you sell Rooney to us. :(

And it's not even close, too. He's tailor made for the style of play we had for much of last season. Which, of course, means we won't get him.

I know it's the tabloids, but some of the strong language a few of them have used about Rooney to Chelsea actually made me worry a twinge.

Apparently Thiago to Bayern is now doing the rounds. If it happens... Ugh.

This is what Juanma Castaño said at Cadena COPE. Word for word.

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 9s
He says that they haven't been able to talk to Mazinho or Pere Guardiola.

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 1m
Castaño: "This is from a very credible source, a source that is, lets say, directly linked to the footballer."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 43s
Castaño: "First, we have been told that Thiago Alcantara's future is not at Barca. Second, we have been told the club he has chosen."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 6s
Castaño: "The club Thiago has chosen is Bayern Munich."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 46s
The host then goes and asks why Thiago has chosen to go to Bayern:

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 1m
Castaño: "There are various factors. There have been several offers on the table. From Manchester United and Real Madrid."
    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 29s
Castaño: "Then there's the one from Bayern Munich.Thiago didn't know if he'd play too much at Barca"(he speaks fast so I might be a bit off)

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 28s
Castaño: "The bid from Real Madrid was rejected because Thiago does not want to close any doors on a return to Barca in the future."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 14s
Castaño: "Therefore the two offers on the table was from Bayern Munich and Manchester United. Thiago considered both closely."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara now
Castaño: "Thiago knew that there were several players in his position, but was told by Pep Guardiola on the phone that he was moving..."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 3s
Castaño: "....Javi Martinez to centre back as Marcelo Bielsa did with him at Athletic Bilbao."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 17s
Castaño: "Therefore, there was a spot in the midfield for Thiago Alcantara."

    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 16s
Castaño: "I'm being told that the deal is absolutely closed and can be confirmed in a matter of hours."

Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 1mCastaño: "However, I insist, all this has to be taken with the precaution that with this news it is the summer."
Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 54sHe keeps going on about this being news in the summer and mentions something, which to me, sounds like he says "I'm panicking". Not too sure
    Jonas Giæver@CheGiaevara 1m
He tries to keep talking but is interrupted by the host who says "we wouldn't report this unless we actually knew this" and so forth. Hmm..

If it's any consolation, Honigstein, the German expert from The Guardian can't believe he'd go there.

Not been keeping up with transfers. When are we revealing Thiago and Strootman? Are we planning on showing them off at the same time?

Don't think we want Strootman at all this summer. Heading to Roma.

That is fine. If Fletch is able to return from injury, he is like a new signing!

I am getting really impatient now. FVKING do something Moyes, god. WTF is wrong? Moyes can't even sign Strootman or Baines????? Good lord, even the losers down in Monaco are signing good players. I'm with Father Ted, we need reinforcements to challenge for anything. Moyes needs to stop fvking about with Rooney and start signing to fill crucial gaps.

It makes absolutely no sense......... We're all as stunned and confused as the rest of the footballing community...

    He makes sense here.

Thiago, kagawa, RVP is a good start ;)

those losers in Monaco are backed by the "Fishes" money of Rybolovlev. of course we are supposed to have cash available too but they are spending silly money so naturally they will make moves.

my only concern now is that if the Strootman and Thiago stories are true who exactly are our targets? can't think of too many top tier players out there that are realistic right now

Martinez left because he didnt wanted to play CB, Guardiola wants him to play CB, can we have Martinez for 10 m, we will give you one of our extra CBs. Martinez would be an awful two man center back, guess it was good for Bayern till it lasted and then they signed Guardiola
